No. 1 So Cal Athletics Mercado/Smith 14U were 12-0 in Colorado annihilating the competition. They captured the 14U TCS Sparkler Jr. Power Pool Championship and so did sister team 16U So Cal Athletics TO - Mercado, which won the 16U Super 48 championship.

No. 34 Texas Bombers Gold continue the Texas winning streak at the TCS Fireworks Sparkler Tournament defeating the AZ Firecrackers Hinkle 5-4. The Bombers made a statement early in the tournament knocking No. 5 Firecrackers Rico into the loser’s bracket.
After morning rain delays, bracket play resumed reducing the time limit to 75 minutes at the TCS Fireworks Sparkler.

Scott Smith, coach of the Texas Bombers 16U & 18U is active in the Army and is one of the many coaches who fell in love with the sport. He serves as Master Sergeant in the Army and has been in it for the last 28 years. Up until the age of 20, he played baseball and eventually tried out for the Houston Astros.

The Colorado tournaments are the largest fastpitch event in the world with over 830 participating teams. From June 27 to July 3 the top talent from coast to coast descend on the Aurora area to compete for the coveted CO Sparkler/Fireworks championship and showcase their talent to over 600 college coaches.

The 2015 Colorado Fireworks 18U Super 64 champion Texas Sudden Impact Gold. Sudden Impact Gold (Tex.) has made some noise on the club scene in recent years, but the Texans made a big impact on the national scene with a commanding 11-2 victory over Tony Rico’s Firecrackers (Calif.) in the 18U Super 64 championship game at the Triple Crown Colorado Fireworks Tournament this past weekend in Aurora, Colo.
