Taran Alvelo is one of the nation’s top pitchers, but this week’s incident could cloud her future. The Columbus Dispatch reported today that pitcher Taran Alvelo, the All-American pitcher from Bloom Carroll (Carroll, Ohio) who has set several Ohio high school pitching records including career strikeouts, was accused Thursday of theft and shoplifting.
