2018 Hot 100 candidate Avrey Steiner (1/25)

This week I heard about a talented infielder from Ohio who is one to watch in the 2018 class; She’s on the same team as a freshman player we interviewed last week, Camryn Michallas, who also plays infield and is getting college looks.

In today’s profile you’ll learn about this fast-rising prospect from the Buckeye State who’s not big in stature – she’s 5-foot-2 – but she plays at a big-time level…

Avrey on her size and the recruiting process: “”I’ve never felt like I am too small to be successful in softball. I owe a lot of credit to Coaches Tony Scibelli, Jenny Dalton-Hill, Tim Fouts, my dad and the Beverly Bandits organization. Bill Conroy and the Bandits take care of putting you in front of the right people to help with the recruiting process. I love my team and coaches and am so excited to play this upcoming summer together.  We all have a like mind when it comes to softball and the dedication it takes to win at this level. It’s just an awesome experience to be in this situation as a Beverly Bandit player and teammate. #HOOPLA Banditos!”

Coach’s Comment:
“Avrey Steiner is such a solid player for us. A lot of our team’s success is dictated by Avrey’s offensive and defensive abilities. Offensively, she is a triple threat from the left side who can use the short game, hard slapping and swinging away to make things happen for us. Defensively, she is a solid second baseman whom we can rely on to lock down that position. It’s been really fun to watch her continue to refine and improve her game this year. I think she has a very bright future in this sport.”
— Tony Scibelli, Head Coach, Beverly Bandits Demarini 14U
