FloSoftball enters Week 2 as we update the Hot 100 for the 2019 class. We're spotlighting 10 each day on the countdown from 100 to No. 1.

The Top 10 prospects of the class will be announced on Friday, February 3 and shortly after we will profile the No. 1 player, the "Next In (101-200)," recruits "On the Bubble (201-300)" and finally the "Top College Rankings" for the '19 class.

Since we first released the 2019 Hot 100 a year ago at this time, there has been a lot of changes as players have emerged as nationally prominent recruits. In fact, 39 of the players in this second version are new!

These sophomore standouts were chosen based on input and feedback from college and club coaches who've seen them play across the nation.

Criteria for choosing and ranking the players including performances at the club and high school levels and projecting how they will play at the collegiate level.

Today we feature players No. 50 to 41 who come from Alabama, Arizona, California (4), Georgia (2), Illinois (2), South Carolina, Tennessee and Texas.

null

50--Ashley Schultz C/3B… Beverly Bandits (Northwestern)null
Ashley is a talented catcher who also has the defensive skills to play the corner positions. She swings the bat as good as anyone in the '19 class and. Ashley is very strong and has great hand-eye coordination. She can go yard or hit for average at the plate. The Oswego (Illinois) East sophomore committed to the Wildcats in November of 2016 and last spring got to catch her sister, Emily, as the two helped their high school team advance to the Class 4A Sectional semifinals where Ashley went 3-for-4 with an RBI in the playoff loss.

49--Mariah Rodriguez MIF… Explosion-Denio/Wilson (Ohio State)null
Mariah, who also goes by "Mya," is a slick fielding middle infielder with great range and a very strong arm that allows her to go deep into the hole and still make the throw. She has a great work ethic and is determined to make herself a better player. Offensively, Mya puts the ball in play as a line drive/gap hitter. She plays high school ball at Orange Lutheran (California) where she started as a freshman all year and batted .323 and helped her team to a CIF Southern Section Div. I 2nd place finish. Mya also helped her 16U Victory USA to a 2nd place at the inaugural ASA JO Cup 16U division in 2016. She committed to the Buckeyes in May of last year.

48--Sophia Medellin 3B/SS… So Cal Choppers-Fausett (Stanford)null
Sophia is an outstanding defensive infielder and has been described by scouts as having "college-level arm strength right now." She's a talented all-around athlete who has played basketball and has the quick-twitch reflexes to pick the ball and make the difficult throws. At the plate, she is a power threat to go deep at every at bat. She's played in the So Cal Choppers organization for several years and helped Gary and Dean Fausett win multiple championships in events like TC/USA Nationals and Boulder IDT. For her Golden Valley (Santa Clarita, California) High team she batted .413 last year and only made three errors all season as a freshman playing shortstop. She had several Pac-12 and Ivy League schools after her because of her strong academics before she committed to the Cardinals in July of 2016.

47--Sharlize Palacios C/1B… OC Batbusters-Stith (Arizona)null
Sharlize is the prototype power-hitting catcher/corner infielder who has a high ceiling and has been called by several coaches one of the top defensive catchers in the nation. She has a cannon for an arm, can frame well and gets the ball off quickly to keep the opposition from trying to steal on her. Sharlize has played at a high national level since 12U and committed to Arizona as a freshman. She had a huge freshman year hitting .534 with a .622 on-base percentage for Eastlake (Chula Vista, California) High along with seven home runs to earn 1st Team All-San Diego Section honors.

T-46--Emma Wilson P/OF… East Cobb Bullets-Caldwell (uncommitted)null
Emma has emerged as a top national pitcher after she took her fastball from 60 to 65 mph over the last year. She didn't pitch during the spring club season due to a back injury but her stellar summer and fall, including batting .429 and belting 13 home runs, has gained the interest of major programs from conferences like the ACC and SEC. Emma plays big when the spotlight is on and had a game-tying home run at PGF Nationals and finished the fall season strong throwing a one-hitter with 11 strikeouts in her last game of the season. She earned 1st Team All-Region honors in the fall for her North Paulding (Georgia) High squad and reportedly has an offer from Florida State and has also been in contact with Georgia Tech, Virginia, South Carolina, Duke, Georgia and North Carolina.

Hannah is a dual threat offensively and defensively as she hits for a high average with power and is very quick to the ball in the field. She has a strong release and an accurate arm. Hannah is a playmaker with good instincts and loves to work hard to improve her game. As a freshman at White Knoll (Lexington, South Carolina) High, she hit .468 with a .855 slugging average to earn AAAA All-State and All-Region honors. After considering offers from Big 12, ACC, SEC schools and visiting several programs, she committed to North Carolina State in August of 2016.

45--Jaiden Fields 1B/OF… Georgia Impact - Lewis (Georgia)null
Jaiden is a talented multi-sport athlete who stars in softball, basketball and track where she runs the 100 meters and 4x100 relay. Athleticism runs in her family as her older brother, Justin, is a bluechip quarterback who has committed to Penn State for football. On the softball field for Harrison (Kennesaw, Georgia) High, Jaiden was 1st Team All-State as a freshman and earned 1st Team All-Region in the fall as a sophomore hitting .325 with 24 RBI. She came on strong for the Impact during the summer and led the team in batting at PGF. Jaiden is an intimidating player who hits to all fields with power, but can also run the bases with her excellent speed. She had heavy recruiting interest from the ACC, Pac-12 and SEC before committing to Georgia, where she has been attending camps since the fifth grade.

44--Raeleen Gutierrez OF/1B… Athletics-Mercado/Smith (LSU)null
Raeleen is versatile in that she can play outfield at a high level even though she is considered one of the best first basemans in her age group. She is a lefty hitter with home run power and can drive the ball with authority to all fields. Raeleen comes up big in crunch time and in pressure situations. She has great infield skills and, wherever she plays, is reliable with the glove. Last season at St. Lucy's (Glendora, California) High, she had a .979 fielding percentage with only three errors in 142 chances. She also hit .415 as a freshman. Playing on the powerhouse A's-Mercado/Smith team which won PGF 14U Nationals last summer as well as the Colorado Fireworks/Sparkler tournament, she and the rest of the A's move up to 16U this year.

T-43--Madisyn Kennedy SS… Jersey Intensity (Mississippi State)null
Madisyn helped lead her Intensity team to a 5th place finish at PGF Nationals last summer. One coach says of her, "Madisyn is a human highlight reel and makes play after play, but she is quite deadly with her bat too." She has one of the smoothest gloves in the country, making the transition from the glove to hand as fast as any infielder in the class. The 5-foot-10 infielder has experience at third and second, but her fluid movements make her an ideal SEC shortstop. Playing for Macon-East Montgomery Academy (Cecil, Alabama), Madisyn hit .387 as a freshman with a .433 on-base percentage and was stellar defensively, making only one error all season to earn 1st Team AISA All-State honors. A good all-around athlete, she also earned All-Metro honors in volleyball.

T-43--Amanda Curran P/2B… Texas Peppers (Tennessee)null
Amanda is a 6-foot pitcher who can also play the infield and outfield, but it's in the circle where she shines brightest. She has great pitching control with excellent defensive abilities to cover her position. At the plate, Amanda has quick hands and the ability to drive the ball out of the park. The Texas sophomore also has impressive speed and a strong arm when she lines up in the field. Amanda started at pitcher and second base for The Woodlands and earned All-District honors last spring. She has been with the Peppers since the 7th grade and last year played significant time with the Gold team. She batted .386 with a 1.72 ERA in the circle. Amanda was highly recruited by major D1 programs, including four SEC schools, before she verbaled to Tennessee her freshman year.

42--Caitlyn McCrary 3B… Birmingham Thunderbolts (Tennessee)null
Caitlyn, also known as "KK," can play any infield position but primarily plays third base at the club level. She bats in the 3-hole as she can move runners along and drive in runs due to her disciplined pitch selection. In the fall, she hit .439 with six home runs for the Bolts and last spring slugged seven home runs to help Siegel (Murfreesboro, Tennessee) High to a 2nd place finish at the 3A level. She has a strong arm and great throwing accuracy. Caitlyn can hit to all fields and one coach called her "one of the best hitters east of the Mississippi." She committed to Tennessee in April of 2015.

T-41--Cassie Lindmark C… Illinois Chill (Kentucky)null
Cassie is an excellent receiver with all the skills behind the plate that coaches look for. She can get low to frame and block pitches, but at the same time, has the size at 5-foot-10 to handle the top of the strike zone exceptionally as well. She builds a great rapport with her pitchers and the infield through her energy and her positive communication. On the offensive side, Cassie is a middle-of-the-lineup run producer who consistently makes hard contact and drives the gap. She had a strong freshman season earning East Suburban Catholic Conference honors playing for Marist (Illinois) High School. Cassie chose Kentucky as a freshman in February of 2016 over numerous Big Ten offers.

T-41--Alynah Torres SS/C… AZ Suncats (Arizona State)null
Alynah is a fierce competitor and five-tool player who excels on offense and defense.
