Recruiting News & Notes (7/30)

Been very busy at the PGF Nationals the last two weeks, but have accumulated a ton of verbals and other recruiting news.

Time to get them up and honored!

Here are the latest commitments, which will be included in the next Master Verbal List which will be updated tomorrow.

*** Ryan Taylor, whose DeMarini Zephyrs won its first game in bracket play yesterday, a 6-1 win over the St. Louis Esprit, says that infielder Kendyll Bailey has committed to Missouri.

Kailey Bailey, standing on the middle pillar, enjoys her Missou campus visit.

“Kendyll is 2017 middle infielder,” Ryan told me this week, “and is a very special player, she was highly recruited by several SEC and Pac-12 schools.  She found a great place to call home—Grain Valley is about an hour and a half from Columbia and her family will be able to watch her games.  Not a bad distance for her travel ball coach to watch either!”

“KB had a breakout year, hitting with more power than ever.  Jumping up from 14U to the Gold level she had a steep learning curve, but bought into the system and worked her tail off.  She’s batting over .400 for the summer with six homers with one being off Taran Alvelo (Beverly Bandits, 2015, Washington), one of the best pitchers in the country.”

“Kendyll hit over .750 in Boulder using her excellent athletic ability to control the right side of the infield.  She’s going to be one of the top kids in the 2017 class and I can’t wait for her to make and impact at Missouri.”

*** Fun note from Karter Williams, a 2016 middle infield/outfielder with the So Cal A’s-Myers/McNee team:

Karter picks her future university and wins a national title in the same month!

“I promised that I would let you know when I made a decision on committing and I have decided to commit to UC Riverside!  I am so excited!!

I wanted a school that really wanted me and one that I could help build the program.  Coach Garza, Coach Ortega & Coach Cox are so passionate and so committed.  Everyone is saying, “you can go anywhere you want,” well, UC Riverside is the big stage for me and I can’t wait to get there!!

By the way, my team the So Cal Athletics 16U Myers/McNee won the National Championship this past Friday.  Unfortunately, I was unable to play in the championship game because I twisted my knee in the game against The Blaze from Texas.  Anyway, I was in the dugout cheering as loudly as possible and WE WON!”

*** Coach Dana Boehmer of the Illinois Sluggers writes to say that 2014 infielder Ashlyn Worcester of the 18u Sluggers has verbally committed to Florida Southern College.

*** Dylinn Stancil, a 2016 shortstop/third baseman for the OC United team, says she has committed to Ole Miss. Dylinn is from Temecula, Calif.

Regan, second from right, wins the state 100 meters.

*** Congrats to Regan Nash, a 2015 outfielder with the KC Monarchs who is committed to Missouri.

She won the 100 meter dash at the  Class 2 Missouri State High School Track and Field championships this spring.
