We continue our look at the top 100 players in the 2017 class… we’re spotlighting 10 each day as we count down from 100 to No. 1. These current sophomores were chosen based on input and feedback from college and club coaches who’ve seen them play all across the nation.

Criteria for choosing and ranking the players including performances at the club and high school levels and projecting how they will play at the collegiate level.

Today we feature players No. 90 to 81 with standout players from California (7), Georgia, North Carolina and Ohio.

Brooke is an outstanding left-handed pitcher who has the ability to throw multiple pitches at different speeds including a dominant change up. She is extremely tough on lefty hitters and as a freshman struck out 100 batters in 88 innings while compiling a 2.78 ERA. Brooke was recruited by major programs all over the country but wanted to stay closer to home and many scouts feel her best softball is ahead of her.

Lexi is in her second year playing with the Sorcerer 18U Gold team and in 2013 helped her 14U squad finish third at PGF Nationals where she caught 12-of-13 games. She's played softball since age six and has the offensive and defensive tools to excel at the collegiate level. Lexi had interest from SEC, Big East and other Pac-12 schools before she committed to the Wildcats. She plays high school ball for former Olympian Michelle Granger and last year hit .478 in league. She has a great work ethic on and off the field (4.0 GPA).

Danielle is a great hitter who grew up as a shortstop but at 6-foot may end up in the outfield or at first. She comes from a volleyball family and background and has that agility, athleticism and explosiveness needed in that sport. Danielle impressed at the October West Coast National Elite Camp (OnDeck Softball) and hit .364 with seven RBI at PGF 14U Nationals for the runners-up. She has a 3.8 GPA and has tripped to Alabama, Georgia and Ohio State among others.

Cristiona, nicknamed "CC," hit .477 as a freshman in 2014 to earn 1st Team All-League honors and led her club team this summer with a .455 average and 39 RBI. At ASA Nationals she went 12-for-24 (.500) and had 10 runs knocked in. CC hits for great power and average and is excellent defensively behind the plate. She combines strength with quickness and had most of the Pac-12 and SEC schools after her before she chose LSU. Coaches rave about her leadership, heart and presence not just on the field, but also in the dugout.

Lily is a 5-foot-10 catcher with a big arm and a big bat to match. She has surprising speed for her size and her ceiling is as high as any catcher in the 2017 class. She has a 68 percent caught stealing mark (15-for-22) this fall and records a 1.8 pop time. Lily also receives the ball extremely well and has only had five passed balls all fall season on a team loaded with down ball pitchers. As a freshman she hit .429 and knocked in 21 RBI in the competitive Riverside, Calif. area.

Megan is an outstanding hitter, she's a lefty who hits for average and power to all fields. The sophomore is an excellent third baseman who can also play middle infield. She's not big, but has amazing power for her size and is very strong defensively. She hit .398 with 16 RBI and 19 steals as a freshman to earn 1st Team All-League and 2nd Team All-District honors. The Columbus, Ohio standout has a 4.3 GPA and got to play alongside her sister, Paige, a pitcher who set several school records and will play at Akron.

Jenna is one of the hottest uncommitted prospects in the 2017 class and has schools like UCLA, Michigan and Georgia looking closely at her. She's the fastest player on the talent-loaded A's-Quarles team that finished 2nd at PGF 14U Nationals; during the week there she hit .444 with a team-leading five steals in eight games. Coaches say the light really switched on for her this summer and she's taken her great athletic ability and overall skills in the outfield to another level.

Chandley is a fiery, intense competitor who brings it every play and every at-bat. She has a lot of range at shortstop and a cannon arm. The North Carolina sophomore has a quick release and is able to make plays against the fastest runners, too. At the plate she brings power and the ability to hit for average--Chandley knocked 11 home runs with a .521 average and 46 RBI for her high school team, which won the state 1-A championship in 2014.

Mariah's stock really took off at the end of 2013 when she impressed at the PGF Early Thanksgiving and Diamond 9 Sun Classic Showcases. The Fresno, Calif. sophomore--who drives down every weekend five hours one way to practice with the Corona Angels--is a leader on the team and is a power pitcher who thrives on challenging batters. Mariah is also a threat at the plate and as a freshman this year had 11 home runs with 36 RBI and a .861 slugging percentage to earn All-County honors. In the circle, she also struck out 156 batters. Mariah plays volleyball and academically has a 3.8 GPA.

Skylar is a power pitcher who is a fierce competitor and has strong command of six pitches which she can throw consistently. She's mentally tough in the circle and she has really emerged as a high level player in the last 12 months because of a strong work ethic and desire to be the best. Skylar comes from Gwinnett County (Ga.) which has been a pipeline for Tech recently and will have six Gwinnett grads on this year's team. Skylar helped led her high school team to the Region 7-6A finals this fall.
