Just two days after being named the No. 1 overall seed in the NCAA Division I Softball Championship, the Florida Gators (50-6, 18-5 SEC) have reclaimed the top spot in the ESPN.com/USA Softball Collegiate Top 25 Poll the Amateur Softball Association (ASA)/USA Softball announced today.

Capturing 11-of-20 first-place votes, the Gators will begin their “Road to Oklahoma City” to defend their NCAA Women’s College World Series (WCWS) title, while Oregon (46-6, 21-3 Pac-12) captured six-of-20 first-places votes to come in at No. 2, along with Michigan (51-6, 21-2 Big 10) grabbing two first-place votes and Auburn (49-9, 18-6 SEC) claimed the final first-place vote.

For the ninth time this season, Florida is the top ranked team in the country following a 1-1 showing at the Southeastern Conference (SEC) Tournament in Baton Rouge, La.

The Gators offense put on a show in their first game of the tournament as they rolled past South Carolina 10-1 (five innings), but a 2-1 loss to then-No. 12 Tennessee (42-14, 15-9 SEC) ended the Gators runs for the SEC Tournament title.  Despite the upset, Florida earned the No. 1 overall seed in the NCAA Division I Softball Championship and will host the Gainesville Regional starting on Friday.

With the Pac-12 title on the line, the No. 2 Ducks headed to Tucson, Ariz. to take on No. 18 Arizona (38-17, 12-9 Pac-12) for their final games of the regular season.  The Ducks wasted no time, shutting out the Wildcats in game one of the series 3-0.  Arizona bounced back in game two, handing the Ducks a 6-4 loss after coming out with a five-run lead in the first inning.

Oregon came out swinging in the series finale, scoring seven runs in the first inning en route to a 15-7 (five inning) run-rule victory.  With the wins, Oregon won their third-straight outright Pac-12 Conference Championship and clinched a No. 2 seeding in the NCAA Division I Softball Championship. The Ducks will host the Eugene Regional starting on Thursday.

Following their dominant showing at the Big Ten Tournament in Columbus, Ohio, Michigan (51-6, 21-2 Big 10) holds on to the No. 3 spot this week after going 3-0 with two wins coming via run-rule.  Michigan opened the Big Ten Tournament with a 16-1 (five inning) win over Penn State and followed up with a 9-0 (five inning) shutout over Northwestern.

In the tournament finale, the Wolverines notched a 6-1 win over Nebraska, capturing a ninth Big Ten Conference Tournament title.  Michigan will be the No. 3 overall seed on their road to OKC and will host the Ann Arbor Regional, which begins on Friday.

Jumping two spots in the polls this week to No. 4 after capturing the first SEC Tournament Championship in program history is Auburn.  The Tigers put on an impressive showing in Baton Rouge, going a perfect 3-0 with all three wins against Top 25 ranked opponents.

In their first game, Auburn defeated No. 13 Missouri (39-14, 14-10 SEC) 3-1 and clinched their spot in the Championship Game with a decisive 7-1 win over then-No. 5 Alabama (42-12, 17-7 SEC).  Facing Tennessee in the finale, the Tigers came out with an early lead but had to score two runs in the bottom of the seventh to push the game into extra innings.  The Tigers came out with the 6-5, nine inning walk-off win, helping them to earn the No. 4 overall seed in the NCAA Championship.

Oklahoma (45-7, 14-2 Big 12), who claimed their fourth-straight Big 12 Conference title, fell one spot to No. 5 this week after a rainy weekend forced the cancellation of their remaining games of the regular season.  Entering the NCAA Championship as the No. 11 overall seed, Oklahoma will host the Norman Regional beginning Friday.

Rounding out the Top 10:

• Alabama fell one spot to No. 6 after a 1-1 showing in the SEC Tournament;
• LSU (44-11, 15-9 SEC) rose one spot to No. 7 this week despite suffering a 7-5 loss to Tennessee in their sole game of the SEC Tournament;
• UCLA (45-10, 19-5 Pac-12) fell one spot to No. 8 after a 1-2 outing against then-No. 23 Arizona State (34-20, 12-11 Pac-12);
• Tennessee rose four spots to No. 9 this week after a 3-1 outing at the SEC Tournament against Top 25 ranked teams;
• No. 10 Florida State (45-12, 20-3 ACC) clinched their 13th Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) Tournament Championship.

Making the biggest jump this week is Tennessee, who rose three spots in the poll following their impressive run at the SEC Tournament.  The Lady Vols took two wins over Top 10 ranked opponents, including LSU and Florida before falling to Auburn in the Championship Game.

New to the polls this week for the first time in program history is North Dakota State (43-9, 16-2 Summit League), who claimed their second-straight Summit League Tournament Championship over the weekend and are also making their sixth NCAA Championship appearance.

Dropping out of the Top 25 for the first this season is last week’s No. 24 Kentucky (29-24, 5-19 SEC), who went 0-1 in the SEC Tournament.

The ESPN.com/USA Softball Collegiate Top 25 Poll is voted on by coaching representatives of 10 Division I Conferences in the 15 ASA/USA Softball Regions as well as members of the National and Local media who consistently cover Division I Softball across the country.
