We kick off the week by looking at an up-and-coming standout pitcher/infielder from Florida who caught scouts’ eyes a week ago when–despite having the stomach flu–she had a dominant weekend at a Nationals Qualifier in her home state.

Scouting Report: right-handed pitcher who throws in the high 50’s with a strong screwball, change up, curve, dropball and rise ball.

Club Stats: so far in the 2015 season, Madisyn has played in eight tournaments: 14U ASA and 18U USSSA, at PGF, and USSSA events in which her team went 27-9-2.

Pitching-wise, the incoming freshman is 19-6 with a 1.89 ERA and 98 K’s in 98 innings. opponents are hitting .212 against her with a .222 on-base percentage.

Club Honors: Last week Madisyn was an ASA/USA Softball JO Honorable Mention Player of the Week after throwing 49 innings and going 5-1 with 37 K’s at the 14U ASA National Qualifier in Tallahassee, Fla despite being ill with the stomach flu.

Also, at the 14U level she was selected as a “Top Performer (USSSA – 14U) Select Elite”; selected to the Elite 24 Camp in Rising Stars (Coaches Tim Walton, Ken Eriksen, Beth Torina, and Joan Joyce); at the 12U level was selected MVP on World Series (100 game winner); at the 10U level was Overall MVP in USSSA National Championship (100 Game Winner)

Recruiting Situation: Madisyn has one offer, but, according to her father, “is waiting for the right situation to be presented with.” She has been on unofficial visits to North Carolina, South Alabama, USC Upstate, and is scheduling visits to ACC and SEC schools.  Recent inquires have been from Florida, FSU, Mercer, Jacksonville University and Central Florida among others.
