Full Replay - 2019 Aussie Peppers vs Beijing Eagles: Game Two | NPF - Aussie Peppers vs Beijing Eagles | NPF - Jun 24, 2019 at 5:27 PM CDT
Daytona Beach, Florida (June 24, 2019)—Monday afternoon and evening was the Beijing Shougang Eagles time. The Eagles won Game 1 of the doubleheader 6-0. Topping Game 1 was Game 2 with a 12-0 perfect game from the Eagles and starting pitcher Wang Lan. The Eagles matched their win total of the 2019 NPF season in just today alone.
Game 1 was dominated by Park Planet Player of the Game Angel Bunner. Bunner who started the ballgame finished her outing with a complete game shutout to earn the Eagles their third victory of the season.
Wang Lan, who was the Park Planet Player of the game notched her first ever perfect game. The only downside was that it was a shortened perfect game after the Eagles eight runs ruled the Aussie Peppers, 12-0. Lan’s final line was 5 innings pitched with 9 strikeouts without allowing any hits, walks and the Eagles defense was perfect with no errors.
Game 2 was kicked off with a Chen Jia solo home run. The runs came in bunches from there on out with the Eagles scoring in every inning. Three runs in the second, two runs in the third, five runs in the fourth and finally one run in the fifth.
Top performers for Game 2 were Chen Jia who was 1 for 4 with 2 runs and a home run. Xu Jia who 2 for 3 with a 2-run Homerun. Li Qi who was 2 for 3 with 3 RBI’s. The Eagles seemed to be lost at the plate before Monday and seem to have found their groove. The Eagles will try to continue their success tomorrow and the rest of the series.
The Eagles will continue their homestand as they host the Aussie Peppers June 25th with first pitch at 10:35 am EST.
