Only the Tough Go to Michigan with Carol Hutchins
Carol Hutchins enters her 32nd season at Michigan. A leader for gender equality in athletics. At age 26, Carol was named head coach at a time when Michigan softball didn't have a budget for 12 scholarships, a grounds crew, or a million dollar stadium. Hutchins is the mastermind, the recruiter, the grounds keeper, and ultimately the fighter for gender equality in sports. She didn't do it alone. Carol credits her staff and players for teaching her to be a better coach. Bonnie Tholl, Jennifer Brundage, and Carol Hutchins have been working together for almost two decades. Wins and losses pale in comparison to the relationships she developed with her players.
Her goal is for you to leave a changed person. I'd say for the most part she gets it done. I can't name a person that left that program that wasn't completely different than when they stepped in. - Jordan Taylor
