Maddie Gardner recorded her third complete game of the tournament, leading fifth-seeded Towson to its first CAA Softball Championship title game appearance since 2016.
Addie Ferguson provided the heroics for the second time in three days, delivering the game-winning two-run single in the top of the eighth inning Thursday to lift fifth-seeded Towson over top-seeded Delaware in Game 6 of the 2023 CAA Softball Championship, 4-2.
UNCW graduate utility player Janel Gamache was named CAA Player of the Year, and Delaware senior Emily Winburn was selected as the CAA Pitcher of the Year to headline the 2023 CAA Softball year-end honors, as voted on by the league’s 11 head coaches.
