Cat Osterman: Farewell
Oct 14, 2015As a sequel to our “Last Ride” series celebrating the story of one of this generation’s greatest softball icons, we’re proud to present our FloPRO subscribers with the “Cat Osterman: Farewell” episode. Relive the native Texan's last game in her home state and say "Farewell" to one of the greatest to ever stand in the circle.
Born and raised in Texas, Osterman began what would be a legendary career in her home state as a member of her Katy Cruisers club team. Choosing to remain in Texas for college when softball reigned supreme on the West Coast, Osterman became one of the most dominant strikeout pitchers the NCAA has ever seen.
The former University of Texas Longhorn went on to win two Olympic medals and play eight seasons as a professional in the National Professional Fastpitch league. Fittingly, Osterman’s Texas career came full circle on August 7, 2015 in what would be her last game in her home state.
Her USSSA Pride squared off against the expansion Dallas Charge at St. Mary’s University in San Antonio, Texas and FloSoftball relives her last game in Texas and bids this softball legend farewell while looking ahead to her post-career future.
