Five Of Our Favorite Softball Poems
Five Of Our Favorite Softball Poems
These five softball poems remind us why this is the best sport in the world.
Read through some of the best softball poems we found on the internet. Some are cute, some are funny, and some are tender, but they all recognize one thing: Softball rules!
Softball
Softball, the only
place it's okay to steal
When life throws you
a curveball, just drive it
If they don't play softball
In Heaven, I'm not going
What real women play
during lacrosse season
If softball were easy,
It would be called baseball
There's nothing soft
About it. It just leaves
a bigger bruise
4 bases, 3 strikes,
2 teams, 1 winner
Play hard.
Play like a girl.
Softball Girl
She puts on a helmet... picks up a bat
and walks up to the plate, "Gotta get a hit, and that's that."
The crowd starts to cheer, the game's on the line,
Last inning... two outs... and the score's 9 to 9.
Dad yells "Go get it!"... Mom's clenching her hands.
Coach says "Hit the ball"... but alone there she stands
Heroes are made at times such as this,
But she's just a little girl, what if she should miss?
Years after the game's ended and she's little no more,
Will she remember this day, the outcome, the score?
One day she'll have forgotten if she was out, hit or run,
She will only look back on all her friends and the fun.
So remember... cheer this girl on, alone with her fate,
Help her remember with fondness this stand at the plate.
Spend your time wisely and help in her quest,
To be a hitter with confidence... always her best.
And when the game's over, this girl can stand tall,
For you've helped her prepare to give it her all.

Softball Dreams
I think about it night and day,
all I wanna do is play!
I love to catch and throw,
My dreams I take wherever I go.
They say I'm an addict cause that's all I ever do!
But I just love the game, through and through.
I'll play softball day or night,
At any time with all my might.
With my dreams I will go far,
I'll show them all when I'm a star.
Sitting On a Bucket
Sitting on a bucket,
That's what I do.
From the time she was a little girl,
Trying to help her dream come true.
Sitting on a bucket for hours on end,
Catching pitch after pitch,
All of our free time we would spend.
As her dream comes true,
And her life is exciting and new,
There will I be,
She will have no more time for me.
I will long to tell her,
If she only knew,
Sitting on a bucket,
was not only for you
The backyard will be bare,
In my heart I will be wishing we were there.
Her slinging that ball,
Me catching them all.
Please Lord give me one more day,
My little girl and me.
Sitting on a bucket.
Softball Player's Prayer
Lord, give me the strength to hit the ball
And if I do don't let me fall
Help me to pick the pitch that's right
Then let me knock it out of sight.
Then let me run with deer-like grace
Don't let me miss but tag first base
Then on to second, stay with me lord,
Cuz this one out, we can't afford.
Then let me zoom like a flying bird
Right down the line and on to third.
Then let me slide with feet out-thurst
Across home plate in the swishing dust.
But first of all, dear Lord, I pray
Just tell the coach to let me play.
