Australia jumped ahead early in the game with a 4-run first inning. The team from Oceania used five hits, including a run-scoring double by Porter and an RBI triple by Tsitsikronis, to take a huge lead in their first attack of the game.

In the second inning again Australia crossed the plate in four occasions, giving starter Gaby Plain a comfortable lead after two episodes. Porter and Tsitsikronis were clutch again, the two-time Olympic medalist hit an RBI single to left field (her second hit of the day), while the first baseman doubled in Leah Parry with her fifth hit of the tournament. Tsitsikronis herself scored later wit an RBI single by Michelle Cox.
The winning pitcher was Plain in 4 innings of work. The youngster right-hander fanned 6 opponents, giving up 1 hit and 1 walk. Tarni Stepto used 17 pitches to close the game in the fifth, with 2 strikeouts
For Indonesia Maria Judith was charged with the loss after 1.1 innings pitched, allowing 7 runs. Isti Yanti did a good job in relief, allowing only 1 run in 2.2 episodes with 1 strikeout.
Australia will close tomorrow Group B against Hong Kong, China aiming to clinch the first place in the group and advance to Super Round undefeated. Indonesia will face Chinese Taipei.
