FloSports Announces Partnership With National Pro Fastpitch
FloSports adds Professional Softball Coverage with NPF partnership that adds over 130 games to FloSoftball.
AUSTIN, Texas — May 1, 2019 — Today, FloSports, the innovator in live digital sports and original content, and National Pro Fastpitch (NPF), the most diverse professional sports league in the world, announced a partnership to provide live and on-demand coverage of 134 NPF regular season games to air exclusively on FloSoftball.com.
Since 2016, the league has streamed every NPF game. This agreement with FloSports is monumental as it’s the first time the league’s content is streamed in its entirety by a third party platform. FloSoftball will provide complete coverage of the league’s 16th season with regular season games beginning on May 28 when the Canadian Wild visit the Beijing Shougang Eagles in Daytona Beach, FL and ending on August 11 with a matchup between league Titans USSSA Pride and Chicago Bandits in Rosemont, IL.
Fans will have the opportunity to witness some of the top talent in fastpitch softball from around the world. There are six league teams with players rostered throughout, that also represent six national federation teams including Australia, Canada, China, Mexico, USA, and Puerto Rico. The players hail from three continents that include Asia, Australia, and North America. Among the above, are complete teams from Softball Australia, Softball Canada, and the Chinese Softball Association. A partial roster of Team Mexico will join the Cleveland Comets and make up over half of that team.
The league’s rosters include former NCAA Women’s College World Series Champions and Most Outstanding Players (Jessica Warren, Danielle Lawrie, and Keilani Ricketts), former NCAA USA Softball Player of the Year recipients (Danielle Lawrie, Keilani Ricketts, and Sierra Romero), as well as former Olympians (Kelly Kretschman, Team USA-Gold & Silver; Stacey Porter, Softball Australia-Silver and Bronze; Justine Smethurst, Softball Australia- Bronze; Danielle Lawrie and Jenn Salling, Team Canada; and Li Qi, Team China). Many other highly decorated NCAA and international players will take the field in the NPF this season.
“We are very proud to announce this true partnership between the league and FloSoftball,” National Pro Fastpitch Commissioner, Cheri Kempf said. “This is a big step not only for the sport of professional softball but for women’s professional sports in general. We are grateful for the vision and commitment by FloSports to include the sport’s highest level of competition and to provide not only the game coverage but the support of our teams and players through weekly highlights and player storytelling. Flo has proven itself as a reliable location for coverage from amateur softball through college and we are proud to now be a part of that coverage including professional play.”
“Our partnership with the NPF marks a pivotal moment for both parties as FloSoftball is the first third-party platform to stream the league’s content in its entirety and it’s an honor to be able to provide intangible value to the league through our ancillary coverage,” FloSports SVP of Global Rights Acquisition & Strategy Adam Fenn said. “With the addition of the NPF’s regular season games, fans can access an unprecedented number of live and on-demand softball games year-round, highlighted by defending champions of the league and regular season, USSSA Pride.”
