The voters for the 2022 Hot 100 made FloSoftball history with nearly 140,000 nominations cast to help decide which players were included in the rankings. The talent is overflowing in this class, which is studded with more catchers in the Hot 100 than ever before. Two things that make this class of athletes special are the versatility and strength of hitters and defenders.
We’ve partnered with AthPro360 which measures thousands of athletes at every level and is now gathering data on the top club organizations around the country. AthPro360’s objective performance data will weigh heavily in the Hot 100 rankings.
One new addition to our class rankings that we’re excited to release are the position-specific rankings. We’ve traditionally ranked the top 100 athletes in their respective class. Following the release of the Hot 100, we are going to rank the top 25 players by position: outfield, middle infield, corners, catchers, and pitchers.
These rankings are always subject to change in next year's updated list, and this summer and fall will reveal both the contenders and pretenders.

50 | Emma Langston, P/3B | Georgia Impact - Fisher (Georgia)
Five-foot-11 pitcher Emma Langston throws a killer drop with solid command. Throwing in the 61-63 mph range, she logged in crucial innings for Georgia Impact Premier while facing the So Cal Athletics, OC Batbusters, Birmingham Thunderbolts, Beverly Bandits, and Diamond Sports Hotshots. Before the NCAA contact rule change, she visited South Carolina, Kentucky, and Mississippi State before committing to Georgia.
49 | Cidnee Ojeda, SS | Impact Gold National Jazz
Ojeda is a special player at shortstop on Impact Gold National Jazz 16U. Nicknamed "A-Rod" for her long range and killer hands, she's a youngster starting on a 16U team. Ojeda has been on unofficial visits to Oklahoma, Texas Tech, Oklahoma State, Texas, UT-Arlington, and Houston.
48 | Allanah Hopkins, P/UT | Fury Platinum 21-22
Hopkins will be an integral part of Fury Platinum 21-22's pitching staff as well as a key member of the lineup. As a pitcher, she spins the ball extremely well and has a working speed of 57-59 mph. She has a strong command of her pitches and is disciplined in her work ethic while understanding what it takes to reach her goals. She is that kid who can play any position and perform well. Not a flashy player, Hopkins makes very few mistakes. She will be one of the leaders for Fury, as she will play multiple positions and lead in many offensive categories. Hopkins received interest from ACC, Sun Belt, Southern, and Big South schools.
47 | Lauryn Borzilleri, IF | Athletics - Mercado/Greg (Kentucky)
Bozilleri is a savvy second baseman who is always thinking one or two plays ahead. She's a special player who reminds us a little bit of Lauren Lindvall with instincts like Katie Reed on defense. Obsessed with the game, Bozilleri is constantly getting better with each play and each at-bat, taking in information and making physical adjustments.
46 | Maia Townsend, OF | Birmingham Thunderbolts 04
Daughter of former UAB softball coach Marla Townsend, Maia has been around the game her entire life. She has a rare combination of size and speed, which makes her a dangerous slapper who can hit for power as well as use the short game. Townsend plays the outfield extremely well, moving laterally as well as any player in the country. Her arm strength and speed, coupled with her ability to get on base, make her a top prospect in the 2022 class.
45 | Haylee Orozco, C | USA Athletics - Mathis
Orozco tested very well on the AthPro360 athletic performance index, ranking at the top of her class. In 183 plate appearances, she compiled a .518 batting average with 19 doubles, eight triples, and six home runs. Orozco has tremendous strike zone awareness with only four strikeouts.
44 | Nehanda Lewis, MIF | Atlanta Vipers 04 - McDermott
Nehanda Lewis is a middle infielder with one sweet swing. She is an athlete who has drawn the attention of recruiters at every showcase that her team has participated in. Lewis is currently being tracked by ACC, SEC, and Pac-12 schools. Speed and power make her lethal at the plate, while range and arm strength make her dangerous in the field.
43 | Emma Edwards, MIF | Tulsa Elite 316
Edwards has an absolute cannon from shortstop, throwing 70 mph overhand with range. Hitting .562, Edwards is solid at the plate and rarely strikes out. She will be one of the top athletes to watch this summer.
42 | Katie Lott, IF | Texas Bombers HTX
One of the top hitters in the Houston area, Lott hits for power and average while batting .513 with 116 RBIs. Last fall, she hit .405 with 45 RBIs. Her ability to clutch up with runners in scoring position is what sets her apart. On the field, she's super smooth and can play multiple positions. Lott's team won the USA All American Games in OKC in 2017. In addition to being a great third baseman and shortstop, Lott has added first base to her defensive arsenal this year.
41 | Caitlyn Newburn, C | Lady Magic - Munoz (UCLA)
During the fall, Newburn led the team in home runs and doubles while playing against 16U teams. Rarely does she ever get cheated when she's taking ferocious hacks and launching home runs over 250 feet. Behind the plate is where she excels most, which ultimately caught the attention of her future college coaches at UCLA. Her smooth receiving and command of the field place her among the top in her class for catchers.
