Pitcher of the Year
Kelly Barnhill | Florida
With only one loss on the season, it’s hard to argue with Kelly Barnhill’s stats this season. No. 5 in strikeouts in one of the toughest conferences in the country, Barnhill still holds a staggering ERA of 0.88. Through 167 innings pitched, she’s only allowed 21 earned runs and holds the opponents batting average down a measly .100 average. Barnhill has posted 11 shutouts this season.
Giselle Juarez | Arizona State
“G” Juarez is tearing it up this season with 250 strikeouts under her belt and a 0.94 ERA. The Sun Devils ace is 21-3 this season catapulting ASU to a top 10 national status after beating previous #1 ranked Washington, Oregon, and in-state rival Arizona. In 171 innings pitched, Juarez has only given up 23 earned runs. Juarez is also tied with Barnhill in shutouts (11).
Paige Parker | Oklahoma
Back-to-back National Champion Paige Parker is posting even better numbers this season than last. The senior lists only two losses this season giving up only 17 earned runs in 130 innings pitched. Parker matches Barnhill in ERA (0.88) and has recorded 155 strikeouts and keeps the opponents batting down to .147.
Player of the Year
Aaliyah Jordan, OF | UCLA
Sidelined by an ACL injury last season, Aaliyah Jordan has been lights out since her return and is currently leading UCLA in batting average (.475), doubles (14), RBIs (58), on-base percentage (.548), and slugging percentage (.799). Jordan earned her sixth Pac-12 Freshman of the Week after going 5 for 10 against Oklahoma State and South Dakota. Before joining the Bruins, Jordan was a standout on Marty Tyson’s Corona Angels ranked No. 17 in the 2016 Hot 100.
Rachel Garcia, P/DP | UCLA
Without a doubt, Rachel Garcia has been instrumental to the Bruins success this season. In 18 starts on the mound, she has only dropped one game. Striking out 183 batters in 115 innings pitched, she kept the opponents batting average down to .128 so far this season. On the field, she records a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage. Garcia is just as fierce in the box belting 9 home runs, 41 RBI, and holding a .385 batting average. Her performance this season has UCLA vying for another National Title.
Meghan Gregg, SS | Tennessee
Nobody embodies the term “consistency” on offense better than Tennessee shortstop Meghan Gregg. Consistently hitting over .300 and putting up over 50 RBIs every season, Gregg is a coach’s dream. Batting nearly .400, she is currently No. 3 in RBIs (65) with a .787 slugging percentage.
Sydney Romero, 3B | Oklahoma
Out of 144 at-bats, Syd Romero leads the Sooner with a .431 batting average and is listed second on the team in RBIs (48). She has more home runs (10) than strikeouts (5). The junior third baseman is also a human highlight reel on defense slinging the ball across the field in the most precarious positions. At third base, you will find only three errors this season. Romero is a two-time national champion and has the Sooners in the hunt for number three.
Amanda Lorenz, OF | Florida
The SEC Player of the Year is unstoppable this season batting over .400 with 9 home runs and 52 RBIs. Lorenz is one of the most dangerous hitters to throw to in the country. She generates so much power from her lower half and unleashes the most violent and beautiful swing.
