The Scrap Yard Dawgs face Beijing Shougang LIVE on FloSoftball August 1 at 3:05 PM CT from the Scrap Yard in Conroe, Texas. The Dawgs are in second place and the Eagles are in last place among six NPF teams. 

Chinese fans will have the opportunity to watch how their players are shaping up with the pros. 

Scrap Yard Dawgs (27-12)

The Dawgs are loaded and prepared for the Cowles Cup. Sitting in second place in the league, the Dawgs are acquiring all the essential pieces to make a run. Signing USA infielder Ali Aguilar solidified their infield and added another dangerous lefty to their lineup. Tab Katiyana Mauga and Taylor Edwards as their power hitters as Mauga leads the league in home runs (7) and Edwards leads in RBIs (31). What about speed on the bases? They have that, too, with three Dawgs in the top 10 in stolen bases. It shouldn't surprise you that Monica Abbott is the league leader in strikeouts fanning 175 batters. But did you know that Cheridan Hawkins the other lefty on staff leads the league  in ERA (.895)? With power, depth, speed, and pitching, how can they lose?

Beijing Shougang Eagles (2-35)

The Chinese Softball Association assembled Beijing Shougang in hopes of accelerating the skills of potential national team players. Teresa Wilson is the head coach of the Eagles who have had a rough first season only winning two games. Qi Li is developing into quite the pitcher who is ninth in strikeouts (38). But Shougang will need their offense to step up as they miss the top 10 in many key offensive categories. Whatever the outcome of the season, Beijing will have a blueprint for the next couple of years of development.
