FloSoftball continues our look at the Class of 2019 as we update the Hot 100 for the current sophomore class. We're spotlighting 10 each day on the countdown from 100 to No. 1.

The Top 10 prospects of the class will be announced on Friday, February 3 and shortly after we will profile the No. 1 player, the "Next In (101-200)," recruits "On the Bubble (201-300)" and finally the "Top College Rankings" for the '19 class.

Since we first released the 2019 Hot 100 a year ago at this time, there has been a lot of changes as players have emerged as nationally prominent recruits.  In fact, 39 of the players in this second version are new!

These sophomore standouts were chosen based on input and feedback from college and club coaches who've seen them play across the nation.

Criteria for choosing and ranking the players including performances at the club and high school levels and projecting how they will play at the collegiate level.

Today we feature players No. 30 to 21 who come from Alabama, California (3), Florida (3), Georgia, Illinois, South Carolina, Tennessee and Texas.

null

T-30--Ashley Daugherty P/IF… Firecrackers-Brashear (Texas A&M)null
Daugherty is a power pitcher with the ability to get swings and misses. As a freshman at Templeton (California) High last spring, she struck out 293 batters in 144 innings and averaged over 10 per game.  For the Firecrackers last season, Daugherty had more than 300 K's in 150 innings while compiling an ERA under 1.00. The 5-foot-9 athlete, who loves to compete and, according to one coach "thrives on opportunities to face the best," also has a big stick and hit well over .400 at the high school and travel ball levels. She committed to the Aggies in June of 2016 over several offers from Pac-12 and other SEC schools.

T-30--Madison Webber 1B/OF… Tennessee Fury-Perry/Weekly (Tennessee)null
Webber was one of the top hitters for the Birmingham Bolts which finished tied for 5th at the PGF 14U Nationals last summer. The lefty slugger moved to the Fury in the Fall and continued to show why she's considered one of the top power hitters in the country. Webber can change a game with one swing of the bat as she has great plate discipline and is selective on the pitches she swings for. She earned All-State, All-District and All-Region honors last year as she led The King's Academy (Seymour, Tennessee) to a state title. Webber is also a dynamic defensive player who can line up at several spots as she has an excellent glove and a strong arm. It was the Vols all the way for her. She committed in March of 2015 -- in the 8th grade.

29--Isabella Dayton CF… So Cal Choppers-Fausett (Ole Miss)null
Dayton is a lefty centerfielder from Wylie, Texas who travels to California to play for the prestigious Choppers program coached by Gary and Dan Fausett. The effort has worked out well since she's become one of the top players in the nation. The sophomore runs a 2.6-2.7 home-to-first and is aggressive on the base paths. She went 27-for-27 in steals last year in high school ball and hit .618 to earn District 5A Freshman of the Year honors in her North Texas district. Dayton is a slapper with power who moved up to the Choppers 18U Gold team in August, the same month she went to the USA Elite Select 30 Camp and earned 1st Team All-American honors. She also competes in track, basketball and soccer, but softball is her college ticket as she committed to the Rebels in December of 2015.

28--Maddie Majors OF… Birmingham Thunderbolts (Auburn)null
Majors is a triple threat at the plate -- she can soft slap, slap for power and swing away. She hit .369 with a .441 on-base percentage as a freshman at Spain Park (Hoover, Alabama) High and scored 35 runs with 24 RBI to earn 7A All-State Tournament and All-Area honors. The 5-foot-10 sophomore also helped lead her high school team to the Class 7A title game. A centerfielder with excellent speed, Majors played in the Colorado Fireworks Sparker All-Star game last summer and had a strong fall, batting .409 for the Bolts. Her athleticism and skills in the field and at the plate garnered heavy interest from most of the SEC before she pulled the trigger in September of 2016 and committed to the Tigers.

27--Lexington Poole OF/IF… Jersey Intensity (uncommitted)null
Poole is a game-changer with her 2.65 home-to-first speed. She helped lead her Intensity team to a Top 5 finish at PGF Nationals in 2016. She's a triple threat at the plate and knows nine different slaps. A great all-around athlete, she runs the 4x100, 4x400, 100 meters and 200 meters in track and plays golf and tennis as well. The sophomore at Archer (Lawrenceville, Georgia) High is versatile enough to play all outfield spots and the middle infield and is a true plug-in utility player. Poole is a strong student-athlete who will be visiting her top five schools soon; the list includes Harvard, Northwestern, Duke, Boston College and Georgia.

26--Chloe Culp C/1B… East Cobb Bullets-Schnute (Florida State)null
Culp is a versatile player who can catch, play any infield position and even move to the outfield if needed, but her meal ticket to the college level is her awesome bat. Said one coach, "Chloe hits the stew out of the ball and never gets cheated at the plate." Culp lit it up at PGF Nationals playing for Gainesville Gold. She went 6-for-7 with two home runs in her two bracket games. In the fall with Greg Schute's Bullets team, she hit a grand slam in one tournament before breaking her nose in a practice and having to shut it down for the rest of 2016. She's back now and ready to take the field for North Florida Christian (Tallahassee, Florida) where she batted .565 with 13 home runs, 43 RBI, a 1.260 slugging percentage and a .984 fielding percentage in 25 games.  She was All-State as an 8th grader and her upside is huge and her potential unlimited. Culp committed to the Seminoles in December of 2015, which is just minutes from where she lives.

T-25--Mia Buffano OF… Sante Fe Nowling (Florida)null
Buffano is a 5-tool athlete who hit well over .400 at the club and high school level at Palm Harbor (Florida) High and has plus power at the plate, having several multiple home run games over the last year. She has a cannon from the outfield and has 2.7-2.8 speed which she uses to track down and take the extra base turning singles into doubles and even triples. Buffano helped lead Coach Jason Nowling's team to a 7th place finish at ASA 16U Nationals in College Station, Texas last year.  Coaches say her leadership and skills to elevate her teammates' play is just part of the intangibles she has that makes every team she's on better. Buffano committed to the Gators in January of 2016.

T-25--Bailey Betenbaugh P/UT… Georgia Impact-Lewis (South Carolina)null
Betenbaugh throws a steady 62-64 mph and mixes her speeds well. One coach describes her as having "electric stuff" and she has a change-up that makes her fastball seem that much better. This fall with the Impact, she went 12-1 with a 1.12 ERA and 88 strikeouts in 52 innings while giving up only five walks. Her hitting talents are on par with her pitching as she hit .401 with seven home runs last fall. As a freshman, Betenbaugh led her Union (South Carolina) High team to the AAA state championship "if" game before falling to current Gamecock freshman pitcher Cayla Drotar. Betenbaugh has a positive attitude and infectious personality that makes her liked by coaches and fellow players. She committed to her home-state university in February of 2016 over ACC and other SEC schools.

24--Farrah Steffany P… OC Batbusters-Stith (Arizona)null
Steffany is a hard-throwing down pitcher whose repertoire includes a curve, rise, change, screw ball, off speed curve and her out pitch, a drop curve. She has a world of experience playing against the top 18U club programs in the country and this fall beat Top 10 teams at major events like the PGF Ultimate Showcase and the Surf City Early Thanksgiving Showcase. She is one of a trio of standout pitchers for Mike Stith's team that includes fellow Hot 100 2019 Oklahoma commits Alanna Thiede and Olivia Rains. Last summer, Steffany helped the OC Batbusters-Campbell team finish 3rd at PGF 14U Nationals with a 1.27 ERA. She also had a standout week at the USSSA Elite National Championship as the Batbusters finished 2nd and she had six wins with 28 K's and a 0.23 ERA. For her Vista (California) High team last spring, she earned All-CIF honors after winning 15 games, pitching seven shutouts and two no-hitters with 190 strikeouts in 150 innings. She also hit .442 with 20 RBI. Steffany committed to Arizona in September of 2016.

null23--Devyn Flaherty MIF… Santa Fe Inferno-Lovett (Florida State)
Flaherty is a 5-foot-9 lefty hitter who throws right handed and plays the shortstop position with great instincts and a high IQ. Many coaches say her defensive skills rival any player in the country at her position. Flaherty is a 3-hole hitter whose hand-eye coordination is so developed that she has minimal strikeout totals. Her quick hands and excellent bat speed allows her to hit even the top power pitchers. Flaherty tore an ACL playing soccer a year ago and missed her freshman high school season but has come back with a vengeance this fall as she hit over .550 and compiled an on-base percentage of .675. She received offers from at least a half dozen Top 25 programs and would have 20-25 coaches watch her club games before she committed to Florida State over Thanksgiving weekend in 2015.

22--Jadelyn Allchin P/IF… OC Batbusters-Stith (Washington)null
Allchin has really improved her stock over the last six months and had a spectacular fall on Mike Stith's Batbuster team. The sophomore from Huntington Beach, California can play every position other than catcher and does everything at a high level. Her arm is as good as you'll find and she throws bullets whether it's from the outfield, infield or in the circle. Allchin has a great swing and can drive the ball to all fields. As a freshman, she hit .418 with a .452 on-base percentage playing against some of the top teams in Southern California. Playing in the outfield at the high school level, she only had one error in 28 games. Once coach called Allchin "a superstar whose best softball is ahead of her." The sophomore had heavy interest from Pac-12 and Big 12 programs before she committed last March to the Huskies.

21--Lexi Voss OF/UT… Beverly Bandits (Michigan)null
Voss is measurably one of the top athletes in the 2019 class as her ODM Score of 105.02 (compiled by OnDeck Softball from more than 15,000 athletes) is the 4th best ever recorded. But she doesn't just have great physical tools; Voss is a great hitter who has well developed bat speed and she can go yard at any time. She has a keen eye and rarely strikes out and defensively will stop at nothing to make a play. The sophomore at Stagg (Palos Hills, Illinois) earned All-Southwest Suburban Conference honors last year in large part because of her defense in the grass where her strong arm keeps runners from advancing bases and her angles allow her to get to balls most can't reach.  She got an offer from the Wolverines during an unofficial visit in September 2015 and committed shortly afterwards.
