We continue our look at the updated Hot 100 as enter Week 2 and rank the top players in the 2018 class… we're spotlighting 10 each day as we count down from 100 to No. 1.

We'll announce the Top 10 of the class this Friday, December 23, then profile the No. 1 player on Saturday, December 24 and on December 26--the day after Christmas--we will reveal the "Next In (101-200)."

Finally, on Tuesday, December 27, FloSoftball will unveil our Top College Rankings for the '18 class.

Since we first released the 2018 Hot 100, there has been a lot of changes as players have emerged as nationally prominent recruits.  In fact, 43 of the players in this second version are new!

These junior standouts were chosen based on input and feedback from college and club coaches who've seen them play across the nation.

Criteria for choosing and ranking the players including performances at the club and high school levels and projecting how they will play at the collegiate level.

Today we feature players No. 20 to 11 with standouts from California (5), Georgia, Michigan, Louisiana, Tennessee (2) and Texas.

null

20--Terra McGowan C/OF… OC Batbusters -- Stith (Arizona State)null
Terra earned 2nd Team All-State and 1st Team All-State Underclass honors by CalHiSports.com and 1st Team All-Orange County recognition after batting .402 with 10 home runs and 33 RBI for her Mission Viejo, California team--perennially one of the top high school programs in the nation and the FloSoftball No. 2 team in the 2016 final rankings. As good as Terra is offensively, her defensive skills are her best asset. She tweaked her thumb in prep play, but when she came back, she threw out seven runners in four games. A dynamic personality, one coach called her results and personality on the field "electric." She has a gun for an arm and uses it to throw out baserunners as a backstop or as an outfielder nailing runners trying to score at home. Her mental game is as advanced as her physical abilities.

19--Logan Caymol P… East Cobb Bullets -- Biele (Tennessee)null
Speaking of Logan, one SEC scout said he had not seen a player at this age spin the ball as well since Cat Osterman.  High praise, indeed, but the Georgia junior has proven she can back it up. Logan throws five different pitches at any time in the count with a drop curve and rise combination that is lethal. What's scary is that with a 6-foot-2 frame she is not even close to reaching her potential. Two years ago, she pitched her Georgia Impact Club team to the 14U PGF championship game and this year she went undefeated in the Colorado IDT 16U division, giving up just one earned run in bracket play, beating several top ranked teams before throwing a three-hitter in the championship game enabling the Bullets to become the first ever Peach State team to win the prestigious 16U division.  In high school, Logan has pitched her Buford, Georgia team to three consecutive state championships including the latest this fall when she went 17-1 with a 0.87 ERA. She had 17 complete games and 10 shutouts, leading her team to the #1 overall ranking in the Peach State for all classifications while collecting various individual awards, including All-State.

18--Jasmine Sievers SS/OF… California Cruisers (Oregon)null
Jasmine was a 2nd Team FloSoftball All-American after a break-through sophomore season for her Capistrano Valley, California team in which she hit .522 with 30 runs and 20 RBI and flashed a great glove in the field playing the middle infield as good as any 2018 in the country. Jasmine continued her outstanding play at the 18U club level and was a key cog for the California Cruisers which made it to the PGF 18U National Championship game in large part because of amazing defensive plays the SoCal junior made in the infield. The Cruisers are headed by long-time club coach Mel Sievers along with her father, Jay, and you don't have to look far to see from where Jasmine has picked up her advanced knowledge of the game.  Still, it all starts with her five-tool skill set and accelerated athleticism that allows her to literally take over a game offensively and/or defensively.

17--Georgia Clark 1B/C… Texas Bombers (LSU)null
Georgia is as deadly of a hitter as there is in the state of Texas and has power to crush the ball to all fields. However, many coaches believe her best quality as a hitter is her ability to not over swing as she hits for a very high average. Defensively she is a slick fielding corner infielder who makes everyone around her better. Georgia also is a student of the game and her softball IQ is way above her age. Says one Southwest coach, "She plays the game the right way and is special in her ability to slow the game down." The Houston, Texas junior earned 2nd Team All-State honors this year at the Class 5A level. She clinched her offer from LSU when she crushed home runs in five PGF Nationals games in 2014; she made it official when she verbaled to the Tigers in February of 2015.

16--Rachel Cid IF… All American Sports Academy (Oregon)null
Rachel has been one of the top hitters in her class for several years and as one West Coach coach said, "Her combination of hitting for average and power is lethal." Her first two years of high school ball in Tracy, California demonstrate her great stick: she hit .532 as a freshman and .449 this year with 35 RBI each season and a very consistent on-base percentage of .559 two years ago and .554 in 2016. But Rachel isn't a one-dimensional player--she plays a rock solid defense and has the quickness and range to play the middle infield and the arm and reflexes to line up at third. She came to AASA this fall after years of success in the Sorcerer organization where she first got the eye of the Duck coaches going back to 2013 and on OnDeck camp. In January of 2015 she took an unofficial visit to Eugene, Oregon and committed when offered.

15--Kayla Boseman P… Birmingham Thunderbolts (Mississippi State) null
There are few two-way players as accomplished and successful as Kayla who earned 2nd Team FloSoftball All-American honors in 2016 when she led her Chattanooga, Tennessee team to a 41-6 record by hitting .589 with an amazing 89 RBI on 21 home runs (3rd best in the nation) while recording a 19-4 record in the circle along with a 2.04 ERA and 194 K's in 137 innings. At PGF this summer she hit three home runs and helped pitch Jay Roberson's team to a second 4rd place finish in a row. Not only is she an All-American because of her pitching and hitting prowess, she's also an All-County volleyball player and has been All-County in softball since her 7th grade year. The year 2014 was the breakthrough season for Kayla as she hit 19 home runs in the summer and five in the fall after joining the Bolts organization.  Her summer play got her an invite to the Colorado Sparklers All-Star game where she hit a two-run home run and pitched a hitless inning. In November of that year, she committed to Mississippi State after getting attention from almost every Power 5 conference.

14--Ashley Rogers P/1B… Tennessee Fury Fastpitch (Tennessee)null
Ashley has drawn comparisons to Oklahoma hurler Paige Parker in that she's tall (5-foot-10) and intimidating in the circle and can take over a game.  She also has some pop in the bat as she hit .473 with 15 home runs and 56 RBI this year for her Decatur, Tennessee high school team but it's power pitching that is her ticket to the SEC. Ashley went 28-3 this year with a 0.62 ERA and an amazing 409 strikeouts in 193 innings to lead her team to a state title. Clocked as high as 68 mph on the gun, she also has dominated at the club level going 15-2 and helping the Fury go 38-5-2 and finish 13th at PGF 16U Nationals. This fall the Fury went 18-2 with Ashley going 5-1 with 51 K's in 37 innings. She's also a standout in basketball with over 1,500 career points and has won three state championships on the hardcourt.

13--Shelby Wickersham P… Marucci Patriots Gold (LSU)null
Shelby is a 5-foot-11 athletic pitcher who throws in the 66-68 mph range and complements her heat with a drop, rise and excellent spins overall. She kicked the summer off with a bang, pitching back-to-back no-hitters for the Patriots and led the Louisiana-based team to a 2nd place finish at the USA Elite Select World Championship. Shelby also had a strong spring for her New Orleans high school, going 14-2 with two saves and pitching nine shutouts with a 0.97 ERA and 114 K's in 106 innings. She works out weekly at LSU coach Beth Torina's pitching clinics and when invited on an unofficial visit was offered and immediately accepted. Shelby has been a force on the national softball scene for years now, starting with her LA Hurricanes team winning the USSSA 12U World Series where she was named the MVP Pitcher. The Bayou State junior is also an excellent volleyball player and this fall led her high school team to its third straight 5A state title.

T-12--Hannah Carson C/SS… Beverly Bandits (Michigan)null
Hannah is a lefty catcher who bats right-handed and has all the intangibles you want behind the plate. She has a pop time in the 1.6-1.7 range thanks to an outstanding arm, strong overhand throw and quick release. The Michigan junior frames as well as anyone and is a skilled all-around athlete with surprisingly good foot speed for a catcher. Offensively she can hit for average and power and made a splash as a freshman when she hit .565 with 17 triples and five home runs for her Mt. Pleasant, Michigan high school to earn the first of her two Div. I All-State selections. A great leader who is smart enough to call her own games, Hannah is as dedicated to improving her craft as anyone in her class. She commutes to Illinois to practice with the Bandits, would travel two and ½ hours each way for hitting lessons and weekly would take live batting practice off college pitchers.

T-12--Shea O'Leary P… So Cal Choppers -- Fausett (Texas)null
Shea is a 6-foot-2 power pitcher with a multitude of pitches and the ability to throw a full count drop ball at 63 mph or a 56 mph change-up for a strike. Along with catcher Ally Shipman (2018, Tennessee commit), she makes up the top battery in high school ball and went 9-1 for her Valencia, California team in the ultra-competitive Foothill League with a 1.67 ERA and 75 K's in 63 innings to help her team make it to the CIF Southern Section Div. I quarterfinals. She has been a nationally recognized talent for several years including a strong 2014 summer when she led the 14U Choppers to titles at the TC/USA Nationals and the Boulder IDT. Said one coach of Shea, "Two years ago, she was seen as a top-level player with a ton of upside and now, if she continues to progress on the same path, has the makings of being one of the best pitchers of all time." A long-time Texas lean, she committed to the Longhorns in October of 2015.

11--Cheyenne Lindsey IF/OF… Frost Falcons (Florida)null
Cheyenne is a lefty slapper who is one of the top all-around athletes in her class. She has great speed and strength, with the arm to play third or the outfield at a high level. The Tennessee junior can turn any ball in the gap into a triple but can play small ball or the power game equally well. Cheyenne exploded onto the national high school scene in 2015 when she hit .564 for her Chattanooga, Tennessee team with a .643 on-base percentage, 35 runs scored, 24 RBI and 21 steals. She stole four bases in one state tournament game to break a nearly two-decades old record. Cheyenne had a great sophomore season as well, earning Div. II All-State honors and helping her team go 37-4 to win a second straight state title and finish #21 in the FloSoftball FAB 50 rankings. Her stock was just starting to take off when she committed to Florida in the fall of 2015 over offers from other top programs like Tennessee and Kentucky.
