What to Watch for at Atlanta Legacy Showcase
The Atlanta Legacy Showcase is one of the premier showcases of the Summer featuring the top talent of the South July 14-17.

With over 600+ teams applying annually, the selection committee does a fantastic job of bringing in teams from over 40 states with varying skill sets and club experience.

In 2015,  the tournament saw a record number of college coaches at just over 425. The diversity in the participating teams and College Coaches makes The Legacy a uniquely competitive event. Behind PGF/ASA Nationals & the Colorado tournaments, The Legacy is the third largest and most attended event by the NCAA coaching community.

This tournament spotlights the 14U division packed with SEC, ACC commits and hopefuls. The Jacksonville Storm Davis was the talk of the Fall. They will be battle tested against well-coached fierce competition in the EC Bullets-Caldwell and TN Fury Platinum.

FloSoftball will LIVE Stream July 15-17 at Lost Mountain Softball Complex on Fields 1, 2, 4 and 5. See Schedule HERE

What to Watch for Atlanta Legacy Showcase

Who: No. 9 Jacksonville Storm
When: Hanover Lady Hornets at 9:40AM FRI, Texas Glory Adkins at 1:00PM FRI
Why: Addison Davis’s Jacksonville Storm looks to be even stronger in 2016 with three 2019 Hot 100 players highlighted by one of the premier hitters in the country. 3B Baylee Goddard (No. 14 in the Hot 100), who hits for power and average committed to Florida. Hannah Goodwin (No. 42) is a sweet fielding hitting shortstop who batted .485 with 15 home runs and has ACC, Big 12 and SEC offers. Madisyn Davis (No. 83) is an unpredictable pitcher who paints the corners, spins well and changes speeds effectively. Others to watch on the well-balanced team include 1B/UT Taryn Freshwater (2019, South Florida commit); C/IF Scotland David (2020, SEC and Big 12 offers); OF Alexis Ross (2019, ACC and Sun Belts offers), and one of the best defensive catchers in the South in Linzie LaFavor (2019). SS/C Jenae Wash (2019, SEC and ACC visits) and MIF Alyssa Grupp (2020) are solid players in the middle too and new comers of note include P Hannah Fisher (2019), C Emily Ayers (2019), and OF Regan Hermeling (2020).

Who: No. 12 EC Bullets-Caldwell
Why: The East Cobb Bullets-Caldwell are a dangerous team with one of the top pitchers in the Southeast in Emily Buck. The Georgia hurler has a vast array of pitches to keep batters off balance while setting up the sequence for her outstanding change-up. Last year, she had a 1.04 ERA and helped the Bullets go 14-2 against strong competition including a showing at the Diamond 9 Fall Classic in Orlando. Complementing Buck is a second talented pitcher in Emma Wilson; both are drawing interest from ACC, SEC and Sun Belt programs. Another strength of this Bullets team is the offense which is loaded with power hitters.

Who: No. 13 TN Fury Platinum 2019/2020/2021
When: Tampa Mustangs TJ at 8:00AM FRI, Firecrackers Sileo at 11:20AM FRI
Why: The TN Fury 19/20/21 team is comprised of a group of 2019-2021s hand-picked players. Coaches all over the South mentioned Jimmy Hutchins’ team as one to watch in 2016 and the Fury made their presence known in a strong Atlanta Legacy performance last year where they beat several FAB 50 teams. Up and down the line-up, the Fury has D1 talent including 5-foot-8 SS Kalei Harding (2020), who is getting SEC & ACC looks. Other players getting D1 attention include 3B/OF Taylor Sanders (2019), who bats leads off and combines power and speed and some feel she is the most athletic player on the team. P Allison Farr (2019) was one of the leaders in strikeouts as a freshman and several coaches say she could end up as one of the best pitchers in the nation. Farr is a hard thrower with tight spin and has ACC and SEC interest already.

Who: Gainesville Gold - McFadyn
When: Firecrackers Sileo 8:00AM FRI, Texas Sudden Impact at 11:20 FRI
Why: Jeremy McFadyn’s team finished 3rd at ASA Nationals as a first year team using a combination of speed, power and strong pitching led by Alexis Kilfoyl (2019). The 6-foot-1 dropball pitcher committed to Alabama. Their offense is led by 2020 OF Kamaya Cohen, a Florida commit, who is very fast and athletic and can slap, drag and hit for power. Hot 100 C/3B Chloe Culp (2019), a Florida State verbal, is a polished catcher who hits a lot of home runs and is joined by another standout backstop in Bryn Thomas. Thomas was second on the team in batting average and has a cannon for an arm, throwing out practically every basestealer to effectively shut down the opponent’s running game. An under-the-radar player to watch is P/UT Rylin Hedgecock who has tremendous power and will eventually go high D1.
