The Annual Tulsa Elite Summer Invite started in 2011 and has grown to one of the Nation's Top recruiting events of the year. Hosted the first Thursday-Sunday in June immediately following the NCAA Division 1 WCWS, this tournament is loaded with FAB 50 National contenders.
All games are played at Arrowhead Park in Broken Arrow. Fields 1-4 would be live streamed on FloSoftball. See the FULL STREAMING SCHEDULE
Why: Ed Naudin’s second year 14U team went to PGF Nationals in 2015 and will be competitive again this year thanks in large part to talent in the circle. Righty Saya Swain (2020) is a hard thrower with good movement and has strong Pac-12 and SEC interest while Savanna Desrochers (2020) is a competitive leader and is getting looks from Big 12 programs. Another 2020 to watch is C Hayden Brown who stands at 5-foot-10 and has tremendous arm strength plus a good snap and pop time.
Why: Jeff Filali’s Tulsa Elite organization is increasingly putting top national level teams on the field and he is now coaching a 14U team for the first time due to the importance of early recruiting and developing players. Talented across the board, the pitching is led by 5-foot-11 lefty Brooke McCorkle who won the 2015 ASA 14A Southern National Championship. She and several other prospects are already receiving Big 12 and SEC-caliber interest.
Why: Last summer Jason Gwyn’s team competed at PGF Nationals as a first year 14U team and was impressive in the fall going 6-1 at the Diamond 9 in Orlando and then 5-2 at the Surf City Pre-Thanksgiving Tournament against top competition. The team is loaded with 2019 talent including LHP/1B Grace Green (Oregon); corner infielder Ellie Bailey, who has Pac-12 and SEC interest; MIF Caleigh Cross, a slapper with speed and catcher Mayce Allen, and a 2020 drawing comparisons to Florida’s Aubree Munroe in size and defensive prowess.
14U teams to keep on your radar: Texas Bombers, St. Louis Chaos, Impact Gold Elite
Why: The Glory is battle-tested and has a strong nucleus of 2018 standouts coming back. Last summer Ed Naudin’s team was undefeated until the PGF National semis and ended up finishing 9th. The Glory staff believes it has five D1 pitchers led by sophomores Mya Stevenson (Virginia), Brooke Blackwell (Texas Tech) and Reagan Richardson (Texas State). Shortstop Jayda Coleman could be the top 2020 in the country.
Why: The Texas Blaze National team is comprised of two teams: Texas Blaze White coached by Mike Prinzo and Texas Blaze Bonola coached by Jim Bonola in San Antonio. The organization combines the two squads to field its best prospects for competition. Players to watch include 2019 lefty pitcher Rylee Trlicek (Florida) and 2018 second baseman Madi Jatzlau, a Texas A&M verbal.
Why: The Firecrackers – Greenwell the team’s strength is speed and four players run in the 2.6 home-to-first range and another five are 2.7-2.8. Once the bases are filled, 2020 third baseman Trinity Cannon, who is getting SEC interest, has the power at the plate.
Who: No. 20 Tulsa Elite
Why: The Tulsa Elite program keeps getting better at the 16U age group and last summer finished Top 5 at the PGF Nationals. Jeff Filali’s organization has three 16U teams and will combine the best players from the three to make another serious national run. In addition to the impressive performance at PGF, the Elite’s ’99 first year 16U team finished 13th at Colorado Fireworks Super 32 and the ’00-Jacks squad took Top 10 finishes at Boulder IDT 14U and ASA/USA 14A Nationals. Some of the young talent to watch includes 2020 third baseman/pitcher Paige Knight and outfielder Riley Boone who are both committed to OU. Two Oklahoma State-bound standouts are a pair of 2018’s: outfielder/pitcher Mary Collins and catcher Taylor Tuck.
Why: Donnie Hughes’ Oklahoma Exclusive team combined with Cornelius Davis’ Oklahoma Twisters team this offseason, providing the Exclusive with depth in the roster from top to bottom. The new additions from the Twisters will add to the already athletic and versatile Exclusive team that won the TCS National Championship in the Platinum division. The team could be even better his year thanks to his standout battery of pitcher Kylie Dadson and Breley Webb, both uncommitted 2018’s. Another key returner is Zoe Jones, a 2018 utility player committed to Texas Tech.
Why: Coach Rachel Gill and assistant coach Lindsay Benck have added key players on offense and defense with speed being a major strength as six players run sub-2.8 home-to-first times. Star returnees include shortstop Olivia Ward (2018, Kentucky), speedy centerfielder/slapper Maddie Spinks (2017, Illinois-Chicago) and lefty utility player Maddie Michalski (2018, uncommitted).
