What to Watch for at the Ohio Outlaws Invitational

Who: Ohio Outlaws 02
When: vs. Ohio Stampede 02 at 7:30 FRI, vs. Amherst Lightning 01 at 11:00 SAT, vs. Wizards 419 at 5:00 SAT
Why: Coached by Candi Siemer, the Outlaws ’02 have compiled a 24-12 13U record so far in 2016 with one championship Central Ohio Fall Classic already in the trophy case and a berth at the USSSA World Series. The team is known for their strong starting pitching and clutch hitting offense. The pitching staff starts with the wicked ball movement of left-hander Lindsey Hendrix and shut down accuracy of the right-handed Madison Roukey. The offense is fueled by the speedsters Autumn Bailey and Cami Siemer who will slap it past the best defenses to get on base. Keep a close watch on Megan Payne, Sophia Cegledy, and Hanna Hutchinson at the plate this weekend.

Who: Outlaws PA 02
When: vs. Indiana Gators Stafford at 12:30 SAT, vs. 3N2 Kentucky at 5:00 SAT
Why: We are a primarily 02 birthday team with an 03 and (2) 01's. We are currently 51-14. We have played up into 16s and 18s locally as well as some regional 14u tournaments. We are a younger team that relies on hitting to cover for being young. Our top 2 hitters are Haylie Brunson and Annalia Paoli. Haylie is a 5' 7" 2021 grad left handed hitting infielder that is currently first in average, second in homers, and second in Rbi. Annalia is a 5'9" 2020 grad right handed hitting 3rd baseman. She is first in Homers, RBI and second in average.

Who: Cincy Slammers 03 & Cincy Slammers Gold
When: CS03 vs Outlaws PA 03 at 6:00 FRI, CS03 vs Ind. Prospects 03-Lamar at 7:30 FRI, CS Gold vs Wizards 419 at 9:00PM FRIDAY, CS Gold vs KC Gems at 11:00 SAT, CS Gold vs Wizards Blackswamp at 6:30 SAT
Why: Look for Sydney Carter in the circle with a 0.80 ERA, 176 strike outs on the season, and a .507 BA. She's not your typical hitter she can switch hit with speed. At the plate, Jess Kincer is a true lefty batting .446 BA who can move from catcher to outfield to first. Tori O'Brien .493 BA is switch hitter with the ability to slap. Arrington Walker is one to watch with .406 BA working behind the plate with a 1.8 sec pop time and leads team in home runs.

Who: Indiana Zephyrs
When: vs Ind. Shockwaves-Revercomb at 9:30AM SAT, vs Outlaws Premier at 3:30 SAT
Why: This team came together 5 years ago, and won Nationals their first year. Their team is young & athletic, with a mix of both speed and power. Bailey Caylor is the triple threat at second base and center using her speed to put pressure on the defense. Anna Henderson will be behind the plate or at third. As an incoming 8th grader, Anna is 5'9" and a solid, athletic 150 lbs. Her pop time is 1.79. She is still a diamond-in-the-rough as a young player.

Who: Wizards Blackswamp
When: vs Lids Indy Dreams-Wirey at 6:00 FRI, vs Outlaws Premier 9:00PM FRI, vs Cincy Slammers Gold at 6:30 SAT
Why: This Wizards Blackswamp team is athletic, fast, and they know how manufacture runs. Mars Orta-Deemer is a big bat in the line up hitting for average and power. You can see her playing infield and in the circle. If you're looking for speed, Aubrey Shroyer lead off for WB, aggressive on the bases runner, and can run down fly balls. Emma Konrad is a veteran infielder with a strong arm and great range. Although she be small, she is mighty batting in the three-hole dropping bombs. The most versatile player is Alisa Shelt who can do it all, hits for average and power, has good speed and plays every position but catcher.

Who: Outlaws PA Gold
Why: 2018 pitcher Katie Gasvoda from Weirton Madonna HS in West Virginia being followed by numerous D1 schools and expected to commit this summer. She was Ohio Valley Athletic Conference (OVAC) Player of the Year as a freshman last year and repeated again as a sophomore this year. She was also name First Team All State both years. She had 137 Ks, 0.73 ERA and 11 Shutouts this year in school ball and now has 285 Ks total in two years of high school.
