Who has the pitching? Who has the offense? Will experience precede conference success? Will the SEC reign supreme again? Or will the PAC or Big Ten rain on their parade? Four out of the five teams in this week's Who's #1 poll will be playing in the Mary Nutter Classic in February. All of those games will be streamed live on FloSoftball. We can't wait!
These weekly polls will be featured on our new show coming in February, Who's #1?
Expect the Michigan Wolverines to return to Oklahoma City with a vengeance. Megan Betsa returns coming off a 300 plus strikeout season. Sierra Romero and all but one of their double-digit home run hitters return in 2016.
The Wolverines are 2-0 scoring 27 runs in two games. Sierra Romero went off on opening day going 4 for 5.
LSU will be the team to watch with two studs in the bullpen, Carley Hoover and Allie Walljasper. The Tiger offense blends power and speed with Bianka Bell, Sahvanna Jaquish, and Bailey Landry.
Florida lost heavy hitters Lauren Haeger and Bailey Castro, but add up and comer Kelly Barnhill and Amanda Lorenz. You can never count the Gators out.
Oregon returns the heart of their team only losing Janie Takeda. The Ducks will have one of their strongest teams in the history of the program. Expect Cheridan Hawkins, Jenna Lilley, and Janelle Lindvall to wheel and deal their way to the top of the PAC and to Oklahoma City.
Alabama clawed their way to the Women's College World Series last year. Alexis Oscorio's stellar freshman performance in the circle gives the Tide a promising future in Oklahoma City. Haylie McCleney, Marisa Runyon, and Demi Turner return to the Bama lineup in 2016.
