The University of Alabama Class of 2016 recently tripped in their four seniors who will sign next month and it’s quite the talented foursome as all are Hot 100 candidates: infielder Elissa Brown (Birmingham Thunderbolts), outfielder/utility player Gabrielle Callaway (The Next Level), catcher Bailey Hemphill (Louisiana Voodoo) and middle infielder Claire Jenkins (Birmingham Thunderbolts).
Here’s what Elissa had to say about the official visit with her future Tide teammates:
“When we arrived at the clubhouse, we were greeted with huge hugs from the coaching staff!” she began.
“After that, our first stop was to tour Bryant Hall—the academic building—to meet administrators and discuss study hall procedures. It was so inspiring for me to see members of the softball team on the All-American Academic Wall Hall of Fame!”
“Once we had completed that, we took a tour of the most beautiful campus in the Southeastern Conference! The one thing that was neat about this tour was our tour guide, who works for the President; she walked backwards and talked to us during the entire tour. She was awesome!”
“The second day we met the team at the clubhouse and had a giant tailgate party before going to the football game. Each senior on the team gave a small speech about what being at Alabama has meant to them and we were all in awe of their stories!”
“We felt like celebrities walking around campus with Coach Murphy because everyone knew him and he introduced us to some incredible people including the President, Dr. Stuart Bell, who gave us an up close and personal tour of his home--the President’s Mansion! We also got to meet new basketball head coach Avery Johnson.”
“It was an incredible weekend and it is a privilege to be a part of the Crimson Tide family!”
