How long have you been playing with the Scrap Yard Dawgs?
It’s been about 2.5 years so far. I started with the 12U team but started playing up with the 16U team this summer.
What’s been your best softball experience so far?
Going to my first college camp two weeks ago. I attended the University of Texas’ camp and it was a lot of fun. We went to the football game and tailgated then had a huge scrimmage at the camp with some of the best players in the country.
Besides the University of Texas, what other camps do you plan to attend and what other schools have shown interest in you?
I’ll be going to the University of Oregon, Florida State University, and Louisiana State University’s camps this winter.
What do you do best on the field?
I’m really good at cheering for people and pumping my team up. I also think slapping is the strongest part of my game. My coaches switched me from the right side when I started 12U and I’ve learned a lot since then as a slapper.
The speedy outfielder says slapping is the strongest part of her game right now
What do you think you need to work on as a player?
I really need to work on reading angles better in the outfield and also need to learn not to over think things and just play the game.
Do you play any other sports besides softball?
Yes, I also play volleyball, basketball, and lacrosse, but volleyball and softball are my favorite. I want to play softball in college and it’s my favorite because it teaches you to accept failure and learn from it.
Your dad won three SuperBowls in his NFL career. How helpful has his athletic background been in your development?
He’s been very helpful and has taught me a lot about being athletic and working on my footwork. Even though we play different sports, some of the mechanics are the same and he’s helped a lot with teaching me those mechanics.
Warren has received plenty of attention from top programs, and one coach said today that she will be a top recruit in her class
When you’re not playing sports, what can we find you doing?
I show cows. I just started this past year and I really like it because it’s an easy way to earn money and learn responsibility.
What is playing on your headphones right now?
Rap and pop, a lot of Drake and Meghan Trainor.
Describe yourself in one word.
Outgoing.
