2017 Hot 100 candidate Julie Rodriguez (10/11)
2017 Hot 100 candidate Julie Rodriguez (10/11)
I first saw this sophomore standout last year in Orlando at the Diamond9 Sun Classic when she was playing for the Jersey Intensity organization and was one of the “Latin Queens.”
She soon committed to a powerhouse program across the country and is now one of the most versatile players in the 2017 class… you’ll learn more about this lefty below and will definitely be hearing a lot about her in the years to come!

Name: JULIE RODRIGUEZ
High School: Old Tappan
City: Old Tappan
State:
N.J.
Grad year: 2017
Club: Jersey Intensity
Position(s): P/UT
High School Stats: hit .608 (48-for-79) with on-base percentage of .640 and 13 doubles, nine triples, 27 RBI and only one strikeout. Holds single-season high school records for batting average, doubles and triples.
Honors: 1st Team All-Country, 2nd Team All-North Jersey, 3rd Team All-State
College: UCLA
Scouting Report: Julie fits the UCLA mold of liking players who are versatile and can play many spots on the field. She is a hard-throwing lefty pitcher who has a rise, screwball and a good change-up to go with heat she throws up and down. On offense she has good bat speed and can hit for power and average with the speed to turn a gap hit into a triple. Julie has a good softball IQ and has a high ceiling as she still has room to grown physically.

Video 2: a video clip I did last fall from the Sun Classic on Juliana and two teammates on Jersey Intensity who were nicknamed the “Latin Queens.”
