Freshman commits to SEC power (11/5)
Brittany Allen, one of the top 2018 prospects in the country, committed last weekend on an unofficial visit.
Thanks to her mother, Erin, who let us know that Brittany, a freshman shortstop/third baseman at Norco (Calif.0 High and member of the So Cal A’s – Quarles team, committed to Florida and Coach Tim Walton.
“She has wanted to play for Florida since she was 10 years old so this is an absolute dream come true for her,” Erin told me this afternoon.
Brittany had taken unofficial visits to Arizona State and Northwestern—Erin’s alma mater—before tripping to Gainesville for Halloween weekend. She also had interest from UCLA, Alabama, Arizona, Oregon and Oklahoma among others.
The lefty hitter certainly knows how to win. Her So Cal Athletics – TO team won two National Championships – at Triple Crown Sports and PGF – in 2013 and this year’s So Cal A’s – Quarles team won ASA 14U Nationals and finished second at PGF Nationals.
That’s four title games in two years… very impressive!
The talented infielder was invited to this year’s West Coast National Elite Camp held last month, October 16-17, but Brittany couldn’t make it as the family had already booked flights to Northwestern for her unofficial visit there.
Brittany is 5-foot-10 and has great strength as shown by her breaking two Xeno 34/25 bats this year—one in the ASA Nationals Championship Game and the other at the TCS Showcase in early October.
“We’re glad they were under warranty!” says the athlete’s mother.
Full Count Softball will have more on Brittany soon… so stay tuned!
