Jen Schroeder, who runs Jen Schro Catching at Sports Performance Workshop and is one of the leads of The Packaged Deal, ran a great catching clinic last Monday night (Dec. 22) and I was fortunate enough to be there.

It was a Who’s Who of college and high school catcher’s ranging from eighth grade sensation Kinzie Hansen of the So Cal A’s, who is committed to Oklahoma, to Aubree Munro, the backstop for the National Champion Florida Gators.

Aubree started with Jen many years ago and the two have worked together to hone the college catcher’s great ability to throw from her knees. In fact, Jen was telling me that Gators Head Coach Tim Walton was recently marveling at how Aubree’s pop time is now at 1.6 seconds.

During the clinic, Jen introduced the Florida star to the young catchers in attendance after having Aubree demonstrate her arm and throwing ability (which you’ll see in the video below).

AAubree talks about “slowing it down” when it gets too complicated and Jen stresses the importance of making adjustments in softball… and life!

Catching for Aubree is Courtney Gano of Washington and in the video Jen addresses Morganne Flores, the senior who’s signed with Washington, and “will be playing against Aubree next year.”

Whether you’re a catcher or not, you’ll enjoy hearing from these two standouts in the game!
