FloSoftball did a live blog from the Premier Girls Fastpitch National Championships on Tuesday, July 28, at Huntington Beach Sports Complex. Here’s how it all went down.

STAYING ALIVE TIME

Winner’s Bracket play in PGF’s 18U Premier Division has concluded for the day, but it’s “Staying Alive Time!” for teams still fighting it out in the Loser’s Bracket of the double-elimination tournament.

Cal State Fullerton-commit Irie Siofele delivered a walk-off single with two outs in the bottom of the seventh to give USA Athletics (Calif.) a 5-4 triumph over Bownet (Calif.) in the second round of Loser’s Bracket play. Corona Angels-Howard rallied for two runs in the bottom of the ninth to beat Florida Power, 7-6, to stay alive in the tournament.

IN 18U PREMIER DIVISION SECOND ROUND GAMES (WINNER’S BRACKET B):

CA Corona Angels-Tyson 3, NC Lady Lightning Gold Premier 0: Megan Faraimo turned in a dominating performance, shutting out Lady Lightning on one hit with no walks and 11 strikeouts to lead the Angels to the victory.

CA Explosion-Denio 7, GA Impact-Medlam 0: Oklahoma-bound Brittany Finney pitched a two-hitter with one walk and three Ks to help Explosion defeat Impact.

CA So Cal A’s-Richardson 6, OR NW Bullets 0: Long Beach State-bound Nichole Fry went 2 for 3 with a homer and two RBI, Stanford-commit Montana Dixon drove in two runs, Tennessee-commit Jenna Holcomb went 2 for 3 with a run and Arkansas-commit Autumn Storms tossed a three-hitter with five strikeouts as the So Cal A’s took care of the Bullets.

AL Birmingham Thunderbolts 1, IL Chill Gold 0: Alabama-bound Madi Moore tossed a three-hitter with one walk and 11 Ks as the T-Bolts shut out Chill.

CA Cal Cruisers-Sievers 5, CA Firecrackers-Blanco 0: Breah Ava hit a grand slam in the bottom of the fifth and Utah-bound Hailey Hilburn pitched a shutout to help the Cruisers knock off the Firecrackers.

NC Lady Lightning Gold-Team Miken 6, IL Sparks Softball 0: South Carolina-commit Cayla Drotar and Purdue-bound Maddie Damon combined on a two-hit shutout and Drotar doubled and drove in three runs to lift Lady Lightning over the Sparks.

CA Firecrackers-Brashear 4, PA Newtown Rock Gold 0: Hawaii-commit Briana Wheeler allowed two hits, no walks and struck out six to record the shutout for the Firecrackers.

TN Fury ’97 3, GA Outlaws-White 0: Southern Illinois-bound Brianna Jones tossed a five-hitter with three walks and two Ks for the Fury to shut out the Outlaws.

IN 18U PREMIER DIVISION SECOND ROUND GAMES (WINNER’S BRACKET A):

CA OC Batbusters-Stith/Haning 11, AZ Desert Thunder 0: Florida-bound Sophia Reynoso went 2 for 4 with three RBI and Washington-bound Morganne Flores and Cal-commit Jocelyn Alo homered to power the Batbusters.

CA Firecrackers-Rico 5, CA So Cal A’s-Quarles 2: Oklahoma-commit Eliyah Flores’ two-run double highlighted a three-run rally in the bottom of the fifth to break a 2-2 tie and give the Firecrackers the win.

CA So Cal Choppers 7, CA Cal Thunder 1: Tennessee-commit Ally Shipman homered and drove in three runs and Cal State Fullerton-commit Taylor Dockins allowed four hits and struck out seven to lead the Choppers.

CA KG Hitters 7, AZ Firecrackers-Kaye 2: Arizona State-bound Taylor Blair homered and drove in two runs and Danika Bailey went 3 for 4 with two runs to lift the KG Hitters.

TX Diamond Sports Hotshots Gold 6, GA Atlanta Vipers-Kates 2: Oklahoma-committed Alissa Dalton went 3 for 4 with four RBI and Louisiana Lafayette-commit Heaven Burton went 2 for 4 with three runs as the Hosshots knocked off the Vipers.

CA All American Sports Academy 4, IL Chicago Cheetahs 0: Oregon-bound Cherish Burks homered and drove in three runs as AASA blanked the Cheetahs.

IL Beverly Bandits-Conroy 7, CA Irvine Sting 1: Notre Dame-committed Alexis Holloway scattered five hits, walked one and struck out six to get the complete game win for the Bandits.

IN  18U PREMIER DIVISION FIRST ROUND GAMES:

CA So Cal Choppers 3, FL Power Black 2: LSU-bound Amanda Doyle went 3 for with a solo homer and Cal State Fullerton-commit Taylor Dockins allowed three hits and K’d seven in 6 2/3 innings and she homered to lead the Choppers.

CA Firecrackers-Rico 2, CA Batbusters-Fox 0: Utah-commit Kelly Martinez went 1 for 3 with two RBI and Cal-bound Kourtney Shaw tossed a two-hitter with seen Ks for the Firecrackers.

CA OC Batbusters-Briggs 9, CA Lady Magic 7: Mississippi-commit Alyssa Gonzalez went 3 for 4 with a double, a homer and four RBI to power the Batbusters.

CA KG Hitters 2, CA USA Athletics Gold 1: Arizona State-commit Sierra Blair went 3 for 3 with an RBI to lift the KG Hitters.

GA Impact-Medlam 4, NE Nebraska Gold 2: Impact scored two runs in the top of the seventh and held on for the win. Hannah Medlam went 2 for 4 with a double and an RBI and Sydney Fisher went 2 for 4 with an RBI and a run for Impact.

CA Firecrackers-Blanco 7, RI Thunder Gold 6: BYU-bound Olivia Sanchez doubled and drove in three runs and Sacramento State-bound Natalie Alas went 2 for 3 with two runs and an RBI as the Firecrackers held on to get past the Thunder.

NC Lady Lightning Gold-Team Miken 4, TX Impact Gold-Jackson 2: Campbell-bound Carline Smith went 2 for 3 with a homer and two RBI, North Carolina-bound Katie Bailiff went 2 for 3  with a double and an RBI and Mississippi State-bound Regan Green allowed four hits, no earned run and K’d 12 to lead the Lady Lightning.

GA Outlaws-White 4, PA Krunch Gold 0: Gerogia State-committed Emily Soles pitched a two-hitter with two walks and seven strikeouts to record the shutout for the Outlaws.

IN 18U PREMIER DIVISION LOSER’S BRACKET GAMES:

CA Corona Angels-Howard 6, KS Kansas City Peppers 4: UNLV-bound Myranda Bueno connected on a two-run homer and Megan Martin added an RBI single in the top of the seventh as the Anegles rallied to beat the Peppers.
