UCLA Softball is the winningest program in collegiate softball history with 12 national championships under its belt.

The No. 4-ranked Bruins have lost a single game this season, and entered today's matchup at 12-1 overall. Their one loss came from a last-inning homer from Virginia to topple the Top 25 team 7-6.

Since that game, the Bruins have recovered well, winning every game in their Mary Nutter schedule so far, including against three Top 25 teams.

Baylor Softball entered the matchup 7-6 overall, with five of those losses coming from ranked teams. So far, Baylor is winless against Top 25 teams in the 2025 season, and even though it showed great determination to change that, it would not be enough in the matchup.

The Bears held off the Bruins for two innings until a homer in the third allowed a 2-0 lead for UCLA Softball.

Despite good work on defense, the Bears would allow four more scores throughout the game, securing two of their own. The final out resulted in a 6-2 victory by UCLA Softball over Baylor.

Check out the full Baylor vs. UCLA Softball recap below from the 2025 Mary Nutter Classic.

Final - UCLA 6, Baylor 2

Bears Fall After Three Quick Outs - Game End

UCLA 6, Baylor 2

The Bears' final chance to add to their score ended in three quick outs, ending the game.

UCLA Finds Some Steam, But Baylor Defends - End 6th

UCLA 6, Baylor 2

Baylor Softball made two quick plays at the beginning of the bottom of the sixth inning to force two outs.

But UCLA was able to get two runners on first and second with hits following those outs, setting up a dangerous opportunity to score.

Yet the Bears will still not concede, able to secure a third out before any additional scoring can happen.

The Bears now face what might be their last three outs.

Fisher Holds Strong After Home Run - Top 6th

UCLA 6, Baylor 2

Despite giving up a home run to Baylor, Fisher was able to gather herself and show her grit, striking out a batter to end the inning.

Fisher is fired up.

Shaylon Govan Homers To Give Baylor Another - Top 6th

UCLA 6, Baylor 2

Govan is able to absolutely demolish a pitch from Fisher, sending it out to left field for a home run.

Baylor needs everything it can get to stay in this game, and this is certainly what it needs.

Seneca Curo Triple Leads To Lauren Hatch Score - End 5th

UCLA 6, Baylor 1

Curo hit a bomb to right field to lead Hatch home.

Hatch came in to run for Bragg, who had just doubled.

The Bears finally get out number three to end the inning, but not before allowing four runs.

Kaniya Bragg Lengthens Lead With Two RBI - Bottom 5th

UCLA 5, Baylor 1

Despite two outs and two strikes loaded against Bragg, a double to left field allows for Pola and Clements to round the bases to home.

Pola and Clements had each advanced a base beforehand due to a wild pitch.

Maggie Daniel Homers To Center Field - Bottom 5th

UCLA 3, Baylor 1

The first at bat for UCLA in the fifth is Daniel, who smacks one out to center field and gives UCLA another run.

Another batter from UCLA with a single to center field will call out a new pitcher for Baylor in Lillie Walker.

Three Batters, Three Ground Outs - Top 5th

UCLA 2, Baylor 1

The quick innings continue as three Baylor Bears are quickly grounded out.

UCLA back out to bat.

Baylor Keeping Bruin Scores To A Minimum - End 4th

UCLA 2, Baylor 1

Even when the Bruins are able to hit the ball, it seems there's a Bear right there to make a play.

One walk for UCLA Softball in the bottom of the fourth and that's all. To the fifth!

Caroline Rowatt Puts Baylor On The Board - Top 4th

UCLA 2, Baylor 1

Rowatt advanced to second on a wild pitch earlier in the inning, setting up a score when Abi Flores singled.

Flores also advanced to second on the throw to home.

UCLA made a second and third out soon after the run, sending Baylor to the dugout, but with a run in tow.

Savannah Pola Keeps It Right Inside For Two-Run Homer - End 3rd

UCLA 2, Baylor 0

Pola smashed a hit to right field and was able to keep the ball right inside the foul line to score.

Rylee Slimp was on first base before the hit as well, giving the Bruins a 2-0 lead.

Right after the play, Baylor was able to pick up a third out to end this inning, but not before the Bruins secure two runs.

Baylor Sent Back Out To Field After Breaking No-Hitter - Top 3rd

UCLA 0, Baylor 0

Its still a scoreless game here in Cathedral City, as Baylor is able to get a single to break Fisher's no-hitter.

But UCLA Softball is there to defend any advancements, securing three outs and ending the Bears batting in the third.

UCLA Gets On Base, But Baylor Defends - End 2nd

UCLA 0, Baylor 0

UCLA Softball was able to see some of its batters make it to a base this inning, but Baylor is still holding strong with its defense, getting enough outs to keep the Bruins scoreless for another inning.

Fisher Gets Two More K's - Top 2nd

UCLA 0, Baylor 0

Fisher helps UCLA Softball into three more outs in the second inning.

Two of three outs were strikeouts, bringing Fisher to four strikeouts on the day.

Baylor Holds Strong - End 1st

UCLA 0, Baylor 0

The Bears are able to match the Bruins quick three outs with three of their own.

Lexie Warncke pitched for two fly outs and one ground out to send UCLA to the dugout.

Three Up Three Down. Bruins Up - Top 1st

UCLA 0, Baylor 0

Baylor was not able to do too much against Fisher in its at-bat attempts.

One flied out and two struck out. Clements will swing first for UCLA.

Let's Get Started. First Pitch

UCLA 0, Baylor 0

Addisen Fisher and the Bruins will take to the mound first.
