UCLA Vs Oklahoma Softball: Sooners Clobber UCLA With 4 Home Runs in 2nd
UCLA vs. Oklahoma Softball saw the first runs scored on back-to-back homers by OU in the second inning at the Mary Nutter Collegiate Classic.
The No. 1 and No. 2 teams in college softball met at the final day of the 2023 Mary Nutter Collegiate Classic as Oklahoma Softball, the defending two-time NCAA champion, faced the top-ranked UCLA Bruins.
And it was the Sooners that struck first and often against one of the nation's best pitchers, Megan Faramio who started the Mary Nutter Classic with a no-hitter of No.3 Florida.

Alyssa Brito and Jayda Coleman hit back-to-back home runs against the Bruins in the second inning to give the No. 2 Sooners the early lead. Then Tiare Jenning, the preseason favorite for player of the year, hit a 2-run home run to make it 4-0.
After Faramio was pulled, Haley Lee added a fourth home run and second 2-run homer in the inning.
Oklahoma went on to beat UCLA 14-0 in five innings.

Is OU Vs. UCLA Softball Women's College World Series?
The Bruins and Sooners rolled through the loaded Mary Nutter field before this game, and the Sooners seemed to bounce back rather well after it's upset loss to Baylor a week earlier. UCLA, meanwhile, might have played the most difficult schedule at Mary Nutter in the event's history with games against all the other ranked teams in the field except No. 8 Washington, who the Bruins will play in Pac-12 play.
The two teams reached Oklahoma City in 2022 and UCLA had one of the three wins on Oklahoma in 2022 at the Women's College World Series.
The Sooners are trying to become the second program in college softball history to win three straight national championships.
UCLA is the only program to do it.

Who Is Mary Nutter?
Mary Nutter was an All-American softball player and a pioneer in the sport.
She was a coach at Pittsburgh State and was inducted into the NAIA Hall of Fame in 1988 and the National Fast Pitch Coaches Association Hall of Fame in 1997.
Nutter died in 2012.
