On November 1, 2014 FloSoftball named Amanda Lorenz the Number 1 player in the Hot 100 2015 List. We are turning back time to look at what she had to say after being named No. 1.

Being named the top player in the senior class is a huge honor and I'm very thankful to those who thought I was deserving of this spot on the list.
I think this list is great for girls to get recognition for working so hard. However,

I would take a national championship over being the best player in the country any day!

Every single girl on this list has worked extremely hard to get scholarships to the schools we are going to, but the hard work has just began. Still, I know all girls in the senior class will be very successful in their college careers.

I take softball very personally. When I get out or make a mistake, I don't just let it go. I wish I did. When I get in a little slump, I seriously feel like I'm going insane. All I can think about that week is each at-bat when I got out.

My biggest weakness is my mental part of the game and I am working on letting failure go quickly because I know once I get to the collegiate level failure will occur much more often.

Failure drives me to work harder. I am extremely competitive and I think that has helped me in being named the top player.

After watching Florida Episode 1 and reading what she said over a year ago, Florida is home for Amanda. A National Championship means more than an individual award and that's the kind of player Tim Walton wants under Gator Nation.
