UCLA had a top 5 softball signing class this month with four elite players rated in the top 31 of the 2015 Hot 100.
One of those is IF Brianne “Bree” Tautalafua, who helped the Carson (Calif.) Colts win its second straight Los Angeles City Section Championship this year, although it came at a price as she suffered a tough injury (but managed to play through to the end of the game!).
As a junior, she hit .563 with a school record 19 home runs and 60 RBI this year and her 39 career homers are 14 shy of the state record set by her sister, Darian, who’s at Long Beach State.
“Bree is one of the most powerful hitters in her class,” UCLA Head Coach Kelly Inouye-Perez said. “She has great confidence and presence both at the plate and in the infield. Bree will impact our lineup immediately.”
In this video shot on Signing Day at the Firecrackers’ signing party in Huntington Beach, Bree talks about UCLA, her injury and how her rehab is coming and even does a famous UCLA at the end so be sure to wait for it!
